Jakarta, 29 October 2025 — The Ministry of Creative Economy is encouraging Indonesia to become a producer of cybersecurity technology rather than merely a user. This strategy is being implemented by strengthening the ecosystem through National Cybersecurity Connect (NCC) 2025, following data from the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) which recorded a surge of up to 3.64 billion cyber anomalies in the first half of 2025.
Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Teuku Riefky Harsya, memberi sambutan pada acara National Cybersecurity Connect (NCC) 2025, Jakarta, Rabu (29/10/2025).
“We want Indonesia to become a producer, not just a user of digital security technology. Indonesian young talents must be at the forefront in bringing homegrown technology to the global stage,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya when opening NCC 2025, themed “Building Data Security Readiness Towards Economic Resilience,” at Hotel Bidakara, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 29 October 2025.
The Minister’s presence at the forum followed an audience with the NCC organizers earlier on 29 October 2025. The forum was initiated to strengthen the national cybersecurity ecosystem through cross-sector collaboration involving government, industry, academia, communities, and the digital-native generation.
“National Cybersecurity Connect is a strategic forum that brings together talent, innovators, regulators, and industry to strengthen national digital resilience. Rapid digital economic growth offers great opportunities, but also serious challenges in safeguarding data and infrastructure,” said the Minister.
The Minister explained that in the first half of 2025 alone, BSSN recorded 3.64 billion cyber traffic anomalies, nearly matching the total number of cyber incidents recorded over the past five years. According to the Minister, this phenomenon shows that cybersecurity is no longer a complementary element, but a fundamental necessity in supporting a resilient digital economy.

Furthermore, the Minister emphasized that the creative economy sector is no longer limited to subsectors such as fashion, culinary, crafts, music, and film, but also includes digital creativity and technology as new foundations for national economic growth.
“The Ministry of Creative Economy has established the Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology as a manifestation of our commitment to driving innovation and strengthening the national cybersecurity industry,” the Minister stated.
The Minister added that the Ministry of Creative Economy plays a strategic role in fostering local technology startups capable of delivering innovative, homegrown cybersecurity solutions. On this occasion, the Minister expressed appreciation for Peris.AI, an Indonesian cybersecurity startup that has recently achieved global recognition.

Peris.AI was selected as one of the 100 global startups advancing to the finals of the Entrepreneurship World Cup in Dubai, and was also named the winner in the startup category at the ASEAN Business Awards 2025 during the 2025 ASEAN Summit. Closing his remarks, the Minister invited all participants to make NCC 2025 a momentum to strengthen national digital resilience.
“Let us work together to build a safer, more creative, and sustainable digital space for Indonesia. Behind every great innovation, there is always a sense of security that protects it,” said the Minister.
Also attending the event were Head of the National Cyber and Crypto Agency Nugroho Sulistyo Budi, Chairman of Gerakan Pemuda Ansor Addin Jauharudin, Chairman of ADIGSI Firlie Ganinduto, Chairman of APTIKNAS Soegiharto Santoso, and CEO of PT Naganaya Indonesia Aditya Adiguna.
