The Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, received an audience with BASE Entertainment and KAWI Animation at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office in Jakarta on Monday (April 20, 2026).
“Animated films such as Garuda di Dadaku have strong momentum for release during the school holidays and the lead-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, allowing us to carry out sustained promotional efforts with various stakeholders,” said the Minister of Creative Economy during the meeting held at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, on Monday (April 20).
“Furthermore, this film, featuring Indonesian creative talent, could also be screened through group viewing sessions with members of the Red and White Cabinet and their families, so that awareness of the film can be built early ahead of its release,” the Minister added.
The animated film Garuda di Dadaku is scheduled to premiere in Indonesian cinemas on June 11, 2026. The film, which carries the spirit of pursuing dreams of becoming a footballer, is a collaborative project involving more than 550 creators from various regions across Indonesia.
“The Ministry of Creative Economy will ensure that the IP of this animated film does not stop at the big screen, but can expand into various derivative products such as merchandise, educational content, and activations across different regions to generate broader impact,” the Minister continued.

“The production of Garuda di Dadaku has reached completion after three years, covering animation production, editing, sound and music mixing, as well as the creation of the Digital Cinema Package (DCP). This animated film is ready for release, involving nearly 550 animators from Batam, Malang, Bogor, Bali, Yogyakarta, and other regions that continue to support Indonesia’s animation film industry,” said Ben Soebiakto.
BASE Entertainment is a production house based in Jakarta and Singapore, known for previous works such as Perempuan Tanah Jahanam, Gadis Kretek, Bebas, and My Annoying Brother.
