“The Ministry of Creative Economy will encourage forward-looking plans that enable renewed collaborations to expand Intellectual Property (IP) into newer markets, develop more unique content, and seek strategic partnerships with other collaborators,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar during an audience with IPV at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 17 December 2025.
Over the past year, Aniwayang by Desa Timun, managed by IPV and E-Motion, has recorded various positive developments, including participation in international festivals such as the World Osaka Expo, as well as the implementation of educational programs at institutions including the Goethe Institute and IFI Bandung to support the development of the creative ecosystem. As a concrete step in supporting domestic products, the Ekraf edition of “Wayang in a Box” has also been updated and registered in the government’s e-catalog system.
“In the long-term strategic plan, local IPs should not merely be content seeking markets, but must become scalable solutions. Aniwayang must be able to handle production, distribution, and licensing strategies to remain present in international markets while gaining wider national recognition,” Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar emphasized.

IPV is known as a licensing management company with a mission to connect brands with the power of storytelling to create commercial value from IP. In line with this mission, IPV has established strategic collaborations with Aniwayang Studio and E-Motion Entertainment to develop the potential of local IPs so they can compete in the global market.
“We are confident in growing Indonesian IPs not only to be strong domestically, but also to go international. We believe Aniwayang is something different, with a clear vision and mission, and something that is difficult for other countries to replicate because it is deeply rooted in Indonesian culture,” explained Anastassia Florine Limasnax, Director of PT Intermedia Prima Vision.
Echoing this view, Founder and Creative Director of Aniwayang Studio, Daud Nugraha, stated that the achievements of the “Desa Timun” IP over the past year have been strongly supported by the Ministry of Creative Economy, and that guidance is needed for the coming year as part of efforts to strengthen the culture-based creative industry through the optimization of national IP under the concept STRONGER: Let’s March Together.

One of the most memorable activations was the introduction of the characters Cila, Cili, and Cilo from Desa Timun as stickers that enlivened the celebration of the 80th Anniversary Independence Carnival of the Republic of Indonesia, serving as a creative identity of local IP that reflects the spirit of cross-generational innovation.
“In 2025, we have proven that Desa Timun has successfully repackaged tradition in a way that is not only educational, but also enjoyable and entertaining for children. Under the auspices of IPV, which holds the license from Aniwayang Studio for events, music, and merchandise, next year we will move forward together to bring Desa Timun to a larger scale and greater recognition, both nationally and internationally,” said Daud.
