Yogyakarta, 1 December 2025 – The Masterclass Program for Audiovisual Serial Script Development (SCENE) of the Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency marked its fifth-year milestone by presenting six of its best scriptwriting talents during its first-ever participation at JAFF Market 2025 in Yogyakarta. The initiative of the Directorate of Television and Radio under the Deputy for Media Creativity serves as a strategic bridge, enabling alumni who are ready for production to connect directly with the industry ecosystem.
On 29 November 2025, Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya visited the SCENE booth and engaged in direct discussions with the six selected participants. The Minister expressed deep appreciation for SCENE’s sustained commitment as a long-term talent incubation program and emphasized hopes that the initiative will continue to grow as a driving force of national creativity ready to compete in global markets.
“Participants must see themselves as owners of economically valuable IP, not merely as screenwriters. SCENE 2025 is an acceleration platform, and participants must be prepared to pitch at global industry standards at JAFF Market. Indonesia’s film industry is entering a golden era, with local market share surpassing 60% and audience numbers remaining above 60 million annually. The future belongs to creators who master strong storytelling, production technology, and digital marketing strategies,” said the Minister of Creative Economy.
Since its launch in 2020, the program has brought together leading mentors and practitioners from the screen industry to nurture new writers who meet professional standards. For the first time, SCENE is presenting an exclusive showcase at Indonesia’s largest film market, JAFF Market 2025, held at the Jogja Expo Center, Yogyakarta.

SCENE’s inaugural participation at JAFF Market marks a moment that encapsulates the journey of the program from 2020 to 2025. The SCENE booth highlights curriculum evolution, creative processes, and the body of work developed by participants over the past five years.
On the final day, 1 December 2025, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar also visited the booth and expressed enthusiasm regarding the fresh and relatable works produced. She conveyed hopes that these projects will enter the industry pipeline and be realized.
“This event shows how the creative industry can be strengthened through the hexahelix model. Focusing on talent development, film distribution, and upskilling is essential for the industry ecosystem to continue growing. Indonesia holds enormous creative potential. We must win the domestic market, but global opportunities are even broader. With the right quality and collaboration, Indonesian creative content is ready to compete internationally,” said the Deputy Minister.

The presence of SCENE at JAFF Market 2025 is not merely an exhibition but a strategic step to bring production-ready alumni closer to the real screen industry ecosystem.
Since 2024, the Ministry of Creative Economy has collaborated with Wahana Edukasi (WE) as a strategic partner in curriculum development and program implementation. This collaboration introduced enhancements that emphasize shaping creators who are not only skilled in technical writing but also adept in intellectual property (IP) development and pitching.
The year 2025 marks a special milestone for the program. SCENE 2025 has curated and selected six participants who are top alumni from the 2020 to 2024 cohorts.

These six talents will not only join a series of intensive workshops and networking sessions throughout JAFF Market but will also present their works directly.
The highlight will be the screening of their project sizzle reels before investors, producers, and industry guests at the SHOWCASCENE event on 9 December 2025. This presentation is expected to open doors for bringing the nation’s best scripts to television stations and streaming platforms (OTT).
