“AI opens a new paradigm in creating value within the creative economy. It is not merely a tool, but a foundation for building a more inclusive and sustainable industrial ecosystem. Through collaboration with AWS, we are laying a robust technological foundation so that creative actors can grow and compete globally,” said Teuku Riefky Harsya.

AWS Summit Jakarta 2025 was held at the Ritz-Carlton Jakarta on Thursday, 7 August 2025. The program represents a cross-sector collaboration between government, technology industries, and creative communities to drive digital transformation and enhance the competitiveness of Indonesia’s digital creative economy. With AWS cloud computing technologies including artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data management, creative actors can innovate, work more efficiently, and reach broader markets.

The use of this technology aligns with the Ministry of Ekraf’s mission to strengthen creator capacities and build a creative economy ecosystem that adapts to global developments. Minister Teuku Riefky also emphasized that artificial intelligence serves as a strategic transformation milestone that will fundamentally reshape the national creative industry.

This Hackathon serves as a practical platform that accelerates learning and collaboration, enabling creators and developers to produce tangible solutions for the creative industry,” explained Dandy Yudha Feryawan.

As a follow-up to AWS Summit Jakarta 2025, the Ministry of Ekraf, together with AWS and Dicoding, launched the AWS Back-End Academy 2025 Online Hackathon (6 August–6 October), challenging participants to develop AI-based Minimum Viable Products using AWS Gen AI services according to ASTA EKRAF 2025–2029 priorities: Creative Economy Enabler; Film, Animation, Video, and Music; Fashion and Craft; Advertising; Apps and Games; and Culinary. The five best works will receive prizes, global AWS certification vouchers, and the opportunity to showcase at AWS Indonesia Demo Day.

The Ministry of Ekraf’s participation in AWS Summit Jakarta 2025 is expected to further strengthen the role of technology as the new engine of growth, driving innovation, opening new market opportunities, and accelerating Indonesia’s creative economy.
