Jakarta, April 9, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) continues to strengthen human resource capacity in the development of the creative economy through the ASEAN-UK Advancing Creative Economy Policy Training Batch 3, which concluded with the Indonesia Chapter Summit at Teater Kecil, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta.
Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, delivered remarks at the ASEAN-UK Advancing Creative Economy Policy Training Batch 3 at Teater Kecil, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta, Thursday (9/4/2026).
Deputy Minister Irene Umar emphasized that the creative economy serves as the new engine of growth, driven by strengthened human resource capacity and global collaboration.
“Global opportunities cannot be seized if we do not move together. Ideas without action will not become reality. Therefore, I hope all participants will continue to move forward and bring new solutions in responding to global changes,” said Irene Umar on Thursday (9/4) evening.
The Deputy Minister also highlighted the importance of comprehensive and adaptive policies to effectively address on-the-ground needs and deliver tangible impact.
“Through this program, I hope to see the emergence of more adaptive policymakers who are capable of strengthening collaboration and responding to the needs of the creative economy amid global transformation,” she added.
Secretary of the Ministry/Principal Secretary of the Creative Economy Agency, Dessy Ruhati, explained that the training program was conducted over eight weeks from January to March 2026, comprising six learning modules.

“This program is designed to strengthen capacity, expand networks, and encourage cross-sector collaboration within the creative economy ecosystem, both nationally and globally,” said Dessy Ruhati.
Out of more than 300 applicants, 98 participants were selected, with a completion rate of approximately 90 percent. Participants came from various elements of the hexahelix.
Meanwhile, Country Director of the British Council Indonesia and Director for Southeast Asia, Summer Xia, stated that the program reinforces international collaboration in the development of the creative economy.
“This program not only enhances capacity but also strengthens sustainable cross-country partnerships,” said Summer Xia.
This program represents a concrete step toward strengthening an integrated and competitive creative economy ecosystem, while also expanding Indonesia’s role in the global creative economy network.

In the event, the Deputy Minister was accompanied by Deputy for Creativity and Technology, Muhammad Neil El Himam, and Head of the Center for Creative Economy Human Resources Development, R. Adi Mukhtar Rivai.
Also in attendance were Head of Culture and Information Division, Sustainable Development Directorate ASEAN Secretariat, Jonathan G.T. Tan, and Head of Creative Economy East Asia, Camelia Harahap.
