Ministry of Creative Economy Strengthens Cyber Talent Through Cyber-Gig Training and Support for CBC Season 3

Jakarta, 16 April, 2026 – The Government, through the Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), held a Cyber-Gig cybersecurity talent training program integrated with the launch of Cyber Breaker Competition (CBC) Season 3 at Jakarta Creative Hub on Thursday (16/4). This initiative marks a strategic step in building a competitive cyber talent ecosystem connected to job opportunities in the gig economy era.

The Ministry of Creative Economy, through its Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology, organized the Cyber-Gig cybersecurity talent training program, integrated with the launch of Cyber Breaker Competition (CBC) Season 3 at Jakarta Creative Hub, Thursday (April 16, 2026).

“The Cyber-Gig: Building Cyber Talent Ecosystem training we are conducting today is an integral part of the Cyber Breaker Competition Season 3 series. This program is designed as a key foundation for building a robust and sustainable cyber talent ecosystem,” said Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology, Muhammad Neil El Himam.

Carrying the spirit of #WinAtEveryLevel, CBC Season 3 and the Cyber-Gig training are the result of collaboration between the Ministry of Creative Economy and the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi), the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), and the Jakarta Provincial Government. The program is supported by Satria Siber Nusantara (SSN) as the main sponsor, with Peris.ai and RRQ as organizing partners.

This cross-sector collaboration responds to challenges faced by young people in the digital era. The Indonesia Millennial & Gen Z Report 2026 shows that 84 percent of Gen Z prefer flexible jobs aligned with their personal values, while 64 percent still face financial pressure. Therefore, the Ministry promotes the gig economy as a solution by expanding access for digital talent to global, skill-based job opportunities.

“You are digital natives with broad access to information. The challenge is how to turn those skills into income, including through remote jobs. That’s why we are encouraging the emergence of cyber talents ready to enter the gig economy ecosystem,” said Director of New Digital Technology, Dandy Yudha Feryawan.

The Cyber-Gig training is divided into two classes: entry level and expert level. The entry-level class involved around 35 participants from 17 vocational high schools in Jakarta, focusing on introducing career opportunities in cybersecurity. Meanwhile, the expert class included around 50 participants, covering advanced topics such as Cyber Defense Lab workshops, professional career development, and leveraging skills to become gig workers in cybersecurity. The sessions were led by Muhammad Zaid Ghifari, a professional Bug Bounty Hunter and CBC Brand Ambassador, and Bagas Mukti Wibowo, Security Engineer at Peris.ai.

As part of ongoing collaboration with the Jakarta Provincial Government, particularly the Office of PPKUKM, the training was facilitated at Jakarta Creative Hub, providing a conducive environment and opening opportunities for future collaboration.

“Jakarta Creative Hub serves as a space for upskilling programs and collaboration for creative communities, currently focused on education, especially in cybersecurity. Moving forward, we will continue to open collaborations across various fields,” said Creative Manager of Jakarta Creative Hub, Ayu Purwati Lestari.

The Cyber-Gig program is also integrated with the Cyber Breaker Competition (CBC), providing participants with a platform to further develop their skills competitively. Season 3 introduces a staged format, allowing participants to progress from regional to national levels and beyond.

“In this season, the competition is structured progressively—from regional CBD, national CBD, Promotion Day, to CBC League. Participants can grow step by step and gain recognition at each stage,” explained Head of Cyber Breaker Competition, Reza Dhio Pratama.

The program has received positive feedback from participants. One expert-level participant, Haikal, noted that the materials were highly relevant to industry needs and provided valuable insights into cybersecurity career development.

“Overall, the program is very engaging and the material is quite in-depth, even for beginners. I gained new insights, especially on bug bounty career tips. In the future, it would be great to include topics on red team and blue team to better understand both offensive and defensive roles in cybersecurity,” he said.

This Cyber-Gig training aligns with the broader gig economy development agenda initiated by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, aiming to prepare talent with practical skills ready for flexible work in the global market. Moving forward, more young talents are expected to seize these opportunities to build economic independence while enhancing Indonesia’s digital competitiveness.

Also attending the event were representatives from Satria Siber Nusantara, Afri Darmawan; CEO of RRQ, Andrian Pauline Husein; and Director of Industrial Cybersecurity and Cryptography at BSSN, Cahyono Adhifatra.
