Jakarta, 13 April, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) continues to strengthen the creative economy ecosystem through international collaboration based on innovation, technology, and culture. This effort was realized through an audience between the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, and a French delegation as part of the ICC Immersion Indonesia/Singapore program held on April 11–16, 2026.
Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, received a French delegation through Institut Français d’Indonésie (IFI) as part of the ICC Immersion Indonesia/Singapore program on April 11–16, 2026, in Jakarta, Monday (April 13, 2026).
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister emphasized that Indonesia holds significant potential in the global creative economy, particularly in subsectors that integrate art and technology.
“Indonesia has strong advantages in creative talent and cultural diversity. We are very open to cross-country collaboration, especially those that combine art, technology, and immersive experiences. Irene Umar also encouraged the French delegation to gain a deeper understanding of Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem through direct engagement with creative practitioners in several cities, including Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Bali. This initiative is expected to open opportunities for knowledge exchange and strengthen networks among industry players.
“We want this collaboration to go beyond discussions and evolve into tangible partnerships, whether in the form of co-productions, creative residencies, or joint IP development,” she added.
The ICC Immersion program, initiated by the Embassy of France in Indonesia through Institut Français d’Indonésie (IFI) in collaboration with Business France, involves 12 French companies from subsectors including architecture and museography, immersive experiences and gaming, as well as music, cultural heritage, and live events.
The Director of IFI, Jules Irrmann, stated that Indonesia is a strategic partner in the development of the creative industry in Southeast Asia.

Through this engagement, the Ministry of Creative Economy aims to accelerate the realization of cooperation in the form of joint projects, talent exchange, and innovation development aligned with the needs of the global creative industry.
