Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, received an audience with HoYoverse at the Office of the Ministry of Creative Economy in Jakarta, Tuesday (7/4/2026).
HoYo FEST is part of a community activation that focuses on developing an intellectual property (IP)-based creative ecosystem. The event features game IP exhibitions, merchandise sales, as well as a collaboration space for Indonesian creators to produce creative products.
In its previous editions, HoYo FEST involved local creators in producing various IP-based works that were marketed as merchandise. This initiative serves as a concrete example of synergy between the global industry and domestic talent.
The Deputy Minister of Creative Economy expressed appreciation for HoYoverse’s consistency in building a creative community in Indonesia, particularly in empowering local creators. She noted that such collaboration represents a sustainable model for developing the creative economy ecosystem.

“To develop the creative economy ecosystem, we are currently working on designing a creative economy curriculum not only at the university level, but also starting from elementary school to nurture creativity. It does not have to immediately reach the stage of intellectual property (IP), but the creation process itself must also be developed. We hope HoYoverse can play a role in educating creators in the production process and collaborating it with other creative economy subsectors,” said the Deputy Minister, Tuesday (7/4).
HoYoverse is an international game publisher focused on intellectual property (IP) development. This approach enables the expansion of creative works not only in games, but also into various sectors such as merchandise and film.
Associate Brand Director of HoYoverse Indonesia, Aswin Antonie, explained that HoYo FEST 2026 is designed as a meeting space for cross-community engagement from various game titles owned by the company.

“In HoYo FEST, we will once again present the Artist Alley as a space for creators to showcase their works. We are also preparing artist development programs, because for us it is not only the games that matter, but also the ecosystem, including the local creators who are part of it,” he explained.
HoYo FEST 2026 will be held from 30 July to 2 August at Pondok Indah Mall 3, Jakarta. During the audience, the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy was accompanied by Director of Crafts, Neli Yana, and Director of Architecture and Design, Sabar Norma Megawati Pandjaitan.
