Jakarta, May 12, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency awarded competency certificates to 10 professional photographers as part of efforts to strengthen creative economy human resources, particularly within the photography subsector. The recipients had previously participated in the Photography Professional Certification Witness Program held on December 11–14, 2025, in Bogor.
Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, received an audience with the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) and the Indonesian Photography Professional Certification Institute (LSP FI), while also officiating the ceremonial handover of competency certificates for the photography subsector at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (12/5/2026).
Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya stated that professional certification is expected to provide official recognition of competencies while ensuring professional standards for photographers.
“President Prabowo firmly believes that the creative economy will become the new engine of national economic growth. The quality of human resources, including recognition through certification and the sustainability of photographic works, must continue to be strengthened,” said Teuku Riefky while presenting the certificates at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (12/5).
Teuku Riefky added that Indonesia has significant potential to emerge as a new global creative economy power, supported by creativity across generations. He also emphasized that creative professions such as photography should no longer be viewed as informal occupations, but rather as strategic professions capable of generating quality employment opportunities.

“Indonesia possesses tremendous creative potential that generates a powerful new economic force. Professional certification and accreditation for photography skills are closely aligned with the third Asta Cita mission to create quality employment opportunities through the development of the creative industry. Therefore, several creative economy subsectors can become leaders in the domestic market while also penetrating global markets,” said the Minister of Creative Economy.
The Minister also expressed appreciation for the collaboration established with the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) and the Indonesian Photography Professional Certification Institute (LSP FI) as a strategic step toward improving competency standards and the professionalism of Indonesian photographers in accordance with the National Occupational Map for the Communication Sector No. 43 of 2025.

“We at BNSP greatly appreciate the Ministry of Creative Economy for fully supporting efforts to strengthen photography human resources through competency certification. Together, we need to build public awareness to explain that photography is a noble profession requiring precision, creativity, and technical expertise in capturing subjects to produce photographic works that people can appreciate,” said BNSP Commissioner M. Nur Hayyid.
The 10 certificate recipients, who are expected to strengthen professional credibility and gain formal recognition in their respective fields, are as follows:
