Jakarta, 7 January 2026 — The Deputy Minister of Creative Economy / Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, received an audience with Bukalapak through its Lapak Gaming unit. The meeting discussed plans for the Lapak Gaming Battle Arena Series 3 as well as the Lapak Main CSR program, which focuses on digital literacy.
The Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, received an audience with Bukalapak through the Lapak Gaming unit at the Office of the Ministry of Creative Economy, Jakarta, Wednesday (7/1/2026).
“The Government supports game-related activities that are designed responsibly and generate impact. Programs such as Gaming Battle Arena Series 3 need to be directed not only as competitive events, but also to deliver educational value, strengthen digital literacy, and open market opportunities for local games,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar during the audience held at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, Wednesday, 7 January 2026.
The audience reaffirmed the continuity of communication between the Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency and Bukalapak in strengthening the digital creative ecosystem, particularly the game subsector. Previously, both parties had explored various initiatives, including offline activations through the Mitra Bukalapak network, strengthening payment systems, and utilizing data as a basis for policymaking.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy also conveyed that the game subsector plays a strategic role in driving creative economy growth, building a digital ecosystem with integrity, and creating quality jobs for national creative talents. Lapak Gaming Battle Arena Series 3 is expected to serve as a platform for communities, showcase local games fostered by the Ministry of Creative Economy, and promote digital literacy as well as healthy gaming practices through the Lapak Main CSR program.

Director of Bukalapak Victor Putra Lesmana emphasized that collaboration with the Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency is key to building an inclusive gaming ecosystem and opening opportunities for Indonesian creative talent. The event is scheduled to take place on 24–25 January 2026 at Piazza Gandaria City, Jakarta, with a target of 5,000 visitors.
Carrying the theme “It Goes Beyond Tournaments,” Lapak Gaming Battle Arena Series 3 highlights shared passion, creativity, and community spirit, while serving as a space where gaming culture is not only competed in, but also experienced and celebrated together.
“Through Lapak Gaming Battle Arena Series 3, we aim to provide a broader space for gaming communities, including introducing local games so they can gain wider public recognition and greater market access,” said Victor.

In addition to tournaments and community activities, Bukalapak is also preparing the Lapak Main CSR program. This program includes donation drives for books and toys, micro-donations from Lapak Gaming and Itemku transactions, educational sessions on healthy and balanced gaming practices, as well as the provision of safe gaming spaces in schools and campuses.
As a follow-up, the Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency recommended participation in Lapak Gaming Battle Arena Series 3 by showcasing locally developed games fostered by the Ministry, such as GameSeed and GIMERSIA.
