Jakarta, June 23, 2025 – Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky has expressed his full support for Dimas Ramadhan, CEO of Meatguy Steakhouse and one of Indonesia’s promising young talents, who has been selected as a judge at the prestigious 2025 World Steak Challenge in the Netherlands this coming September. Minister Riefky hopes Dimas will proudly represent Indonesia and elevate its culinary identity on the global stage.

“We strongly support young talents like Dimas taking center stage internationally. We hope to see more ‘Meat Guy’ emerge—whether in the form of meat products, seasonings, chefs, restaurant owners, or Indonesian culinary brands and intellectual properties (IP),” said Minister Teuku Riefky during a meeting at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, on Monday, June 23, 2025.
The 2025 World Steak Challenge will be held at Vlees & Co in Amsterdam on September 10–11, 2025. The competition aims to benchmark the global standard of steak-quality meats and will gather 50 judges from 20 countries worldwide.
This meeting also builds on the Ministry’s previous support for Meatguy Steakhouse, which proudly secured the 90th spot in the World’s 101 Best Steak rankings, making it the first Indonesian steakhouse to ever appear on the list.
“We are grateful to the Ministry of Creative Economy for their involvement in our past activities. Their support helped generate a wave of positive responses and incredible enthusiasm from the public,” said Dimas, widely known as Dims The Meat Guy.
In addition to his judging role, Dimas also shared his intent to introduce export-potential local ingredients at the competition, such as Tejaloka sea salt from Bali, which is used in the restaurant’s signature dishes. This initiative was warmly welcomed by the Secretary of the Ministry of Creative Economy, Dessy Ruhati.

“We truly appreciate Dimas’s achievement in promoting Indonesia through culinary diplomacy, including his efforts to highlight Tejaloka salt. This aligns with our mission to promote Indonesian culinary products into the global market,” said Dessy.
As part of its commitment to supporting Indonesia’s representation in prestigious international events, the Ministry of Creative Economy emphasized the government's role as a facilitator for creative economy talents operating on the global stage. The support includes administrative assistance and cooperation with various stakeholders to ensure proper guidance during overseas activities.
“To support creative economy players conducting activities abroad, we provide a range of facilitation services—including official letters for visa processing, and coordination with Indonesian embassies or consulates in the host countries. Additional forms of support will be considered as needed,” Dessy added.
Accompanying Minister Teuku Riefky at the meeting were the Secretary of the Deputy for Cultural and Design Creativity, Amir Hamzah, and Head of Subdirectorate for Marketing and Commercialization of Culinary, Lisa Riana Muallim. Also present were Meatguy Steakhouse CMO, Nadia, and Executive Chef, Yudi.
