Jakarta, July 15, 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy is promoting Femmevolution Festival 2025 as a cross-sector collaboration platform, particularly in fashion and music, to empower women’s talent. Through this festival, the Ministry hopes to open more opportunities for female musicians and designers to showcase their work on the global stage.

“Femmevolution is an example of a music and fashion festival that plays a crucial role in providing a stage where everyone can witness creative economy champions perform. Many venues already exist, but often there are no performers to fill them,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, during a meeting with the organizers of Femmevolution Festival at Autograph Tower, Thamrin Nine, Jakarta, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
The Deputy Minister noted that this meeting is a valuable moment to open doors for collaboration with other stakeholders. She also highlighted the Ministry’s ongoing partnership with Jakarta’s Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) to strengthen the city’s creative economy ecosystem.

“Together with Bappeda Jakarta, we have established creative corridors leading up to Jakarta’s 500th anniversary. Venues such as Kota Tua, Pos Bloc, Sarinah, Taman Ismail Marzuki, and other alternative locations can be great options for hosting events, as they already attract many visitors. However, any collaboration created must strike a balance between commercialization and partnership,” added Deputy Minister Irene, who was accompanied by Director for Fashion, Romi Astuti.
Femmevolution Festival was born out of the spirit of celebrating women as the center of creativity, strength, and transformative capacity. The festival aims to bring together women musicians across generations, genres, and borders.

Besides a music festival celebrating courage and togetherness, Femmevolution Festival will also feature discussions on women’s issues. The event is scheduled to take place in Indonesia this August with a simple, accessible concept.
During the meeting, Femmevolution Festival initiator Rieka Roslan shared that the festival’s plan reflects a vision and mission to create a space for women to express themselves and connect. She emphasized that the event is more than just a festival; it is a women’s movement where participants can meet, discuss, and highlight Indonesia’s identity and diversity.
“Femmevolution will ensure that women not only have a voice but also create spaces to express themselves through music. The music festival can be combined with fashion and culinary elements, and it will be even more exciting when participating musicians wear kebaya and Indonesian traditional textiles. It won’t just be about singing, but there will also be dance, and Indonesian cultural performances can also be featured, making them even more popular,” said Rieka Roslan.
