Jakarta, 18 June 2026 – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, discussed the development plan for an interactive Pinisi ship installation with Arief Susanto, Founder and CEO of Dus Duk Duk, and artist as well as content creator Erika Richardo. The installation, titled Rasi Creativity, will engage artists, creators, and the public in a variety of creative activities throughout 2026.
Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, received a delegation from Dus Duk Duk Founder and CEO Arief Susanto, along with artist and content creator Erika Richardo, at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office in Jakarta on Thursday (18 June 2026).
“We strongly support collaborations like this because they create opportunities for greater participation from creative economy players. Beyond presenting an engaging work of art, this initiative also creates a collaborative space that delivers meaningful impact for creators and the wider community,” said the Deputy Minister during an audience meeting at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, on Thursday (18/6).
During the meeting, Arief Susanto and Erika Richardo presented the concept of Rasi Creativity, a full-scale (1:1) Pinisi ship installation designed to be immersive and interactive. Scheduled to take place from 14 August to 5 September 2026 at Pacific Place Mall, Jakarta, the program is being prepared as part of Indonesia’s Independence Day celebrations. It will feature workshops, live painting sessions, and various educational activations that allow visitors to directly engage with the artwork while learning about the cultural values it represents.
In addition to the creative activities on offer, Irene encouraged the organizers to involve a broader range of creative economy subsectors, including visual arts, crafts, and local creators from across Indonesia. According to her, cross-subsector collaboration is essential for expanding the impact of the creative economy while providing a richer and more inclusive experience for the public.

Founder and CEO of Dus Duk Duk, Arief Susanto, explained that the concept was designed to deliver a creative experience that can be enjoyed by people from all walks of life while introducing Indonesia’s cultural richness through an interactive approach.
“Through this project, we want to create an experience that feels closer to the public. People will not only enjoy the artwork but also become part of it, allowing this creative space to serve as a meeting point for artists, creators, and the community,” said Arief.
This collaboration builds upon the previous work of Dus Duk Duk and Erika Richardo in 2025, which featured a 1:10 scale cardboard airplane installation themed around Indonesia in celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. The installation received widespread public attention and was recognized by the Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI). Continuing the spirit of celebrating independence through creative works, the duo is now developing a Pinisi ship installation that highlights Indonesia’s maritime cultural heritage through a more interactive and participatory experience.
The Ministry of Creative Economy hopes that this collaboration will become a platform where artists, creators, and the public can come together to celebrate Indonesian creativity. Through a participatory approach, creative installations not only provide engaging experiences for visitors but also strengthen appreciation for Indonesia’s cultural wealth in ways that resonate with younger generations.
Also accompanying the Deputy Minister during the meeting were Dadam Mahdar, Director of Visual Arts and Performing Arts, and Neli Yana, Director of Crafts.
