Ministry of Creative Economy Supports Jakarta Innovation Days 2025: The City as a Space for Collaboration and Innovation

Jakarta, 21 October 2025 — The Ministry of Creative Economy fully supports the implementation of Jakarta Innovation Days (JID) 2025, held from 21–25 October at Thamrin Nine Ballroom and the Dukuh Atas area, Central Jakarta. Featuring more than 100 innovation booths, the event serves as a strategic platform to strengthen the creative ecosystem and cross-sector collaboration in the capital.

Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Teuku Riefky Harsya, bersama Wakil Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Irene Umar menghadiri Opening Ceremony Jakarta Innovation Days 2025 yang berlangsung di Ballroom Thamrine Nine, Jakarta, Rabu (22/10/2025).

“A city is not only a living space, but also a growing space for creative ideas. Collaboration between government, communities, and businesses is key to creating an adaptive and empowering city for society,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya.

Initiated by the Jakarta Provincial Government through the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda DKI Jakarta), the event brings together government, businesses, academics, communities, and media to strengthen the innovation and creative economy ecosystem in the capital.

Carrying the spirit of “Innovation for All,” JID 2025 presents more than 100 innovation booths and creative installations spread across the Dukuh Atas area, ranging from the ballroom area and Agora Mall to public transit spaces. The program also features a series of Innovation Talks, a Creative Market, and the Jakarta Innovation Awards as the main highlight.

The Minister of Creative Economy emphasized that innovation and the creative economy play a vital role in shaping resilient and sustainable cities.

Governor of Jakarta Pramono Anung stressed that urban innovation must be built through synergy and cross-sector collaboration.

“Jakarta must become a model of a modern city that moves forward through implementable innovation, not merely new concepts. We want this city to be comfortable, inclusive, and to remain a space for residents to create and innovate,” said Pramono.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar appreciated the organization of JID, which combines exhibitions, art installations, and public space activations into a single creative ecosystem.

“Seeing booths and installations spread as far as the Agora area and Dukuh Atas shows how wide the radius of collaboration at JID truly is. This is not just an exhibition, but a living ecosystem that affirms Jakarta as a creative city,” said the Deputy Minister.

Deputy Head of Bappeda DKI Jakarta Deftrianov added that JID is part of the Jakarta Provincial Government’s efforts to expand a regional innovation ecosystem that is adaptive to change.

“Through JID, we see how public spaces can be transformed into spaces for collaboration. Dukuh Atas is not merely a transit point, but a playground for the public—a place where ideas and innovation can grow,” he explained.

The Ministry of Creative Economy views initiatives such as JID 2025 as playing a strategic role in strengthening Jakarta’s character as a collaborative city with global competitiveness. Through cross-sector synergy, the city becomes not only a center of economic growth, but also a living space that stimulates creativity and sustainable innovation.
