Jakarta, 23 December 2025 — The craft industry is one of the leading subsectors of the creative economy, with export contributions reaching USD 11.1 million. In line with this potential, Minister of Creative Economy / Head of the Creative Economy Agency Teuku Riefky Harsya received an audience with the Jogja International Furniture & Craft Fair Indonesia (JIFFINA), an international-standard furniture and craft exhibition that plays a strategic role in enabling national creative products to penetrate global markets.
Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Teuku Riefky Harsya, menerima audiensi Jogja International Furniture & Craft Fair Indonesia (JIFFINA) di Kantor Kementerian Ekraf, Jakarta, Selasa (23/12/2025).
“One of the reasons for the presence of the Ministry of Creative Economy is our stronger focus on acceleration rather than incubation, namely helping businesses move up the value chain and enter international markets,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky during the audience at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 23 December 2025.
According to Minister Teuku Riefky, JIFFINA aligns with the role of the Ministry of Creative Economy as an accelerator for creative business development. JIFFINA is an international furniture and craft exhibition regularly held at the Jogja Expo Center, Yogyakarta. Its organization in the Special Region of Yogyakarta and Central Java is considered strategic, as both regions are national centers for the furniture and craft industries, providing regional creative economy players with access to global exhibitions at more affordable costs.
The existence of JIFFINA also demonstrates that international exhibitions do not necessarily have to be centralized in Jakarta. Field observations show that interest from international buyers remains high in visiting Yogyakarta directly, while simultaneously opening opportunities for a more equitable distribution of creative economy activities in the regions.

President Director of PT Jiffina Internasional Perkasa Yuli Sugianto explained that JIFFINA functions as a trade and export platform that bridges furniture and craft creative economy players with international buyers. In addition, JIFFINA encourages value creation through sustainable design innovation, collaboration with young designers, and the provision of factory visit programs for buyers.
“JIFFINA is focused on the international market. Buyers come from various countries such as the Netherlands, the United States, France, Spain, India, the Middle East, North Africa, Japan, Malaysia, and Singapore. In the 2018 implementation, total recorded transactions reached USD 46 million,” he explained.
This audience reaffirmed the importance of collaboration between the government and stakeholders in strengthening the position of the craft subsector as one of the backbones of Indonesia’s creative economy exports. Such synergy is expected to expand market access, enhance competitiveness, and strengthen the branding of national craft products.
Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky was accompanied by Deputy for Cultural and Design Creativity Yuke Sri Rahayu and Director of Crafts at the Ministry of Creative Economy Neli Yana.
