Ministry of Creative Economy Supports Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing’s Program to Help Creative Economy Workers Own Homes

Jakarta, March 25, 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy has expressed support for the program by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (Kemen PKP) aimed at helping the public own homes. Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar highlighted that creative economy workers could benefit from this program.

Wamenekraf Irene Umar mendukung program Kementerian Perumahan dan Kawasan Permukiman dalam menyediakan hunian subsidi bagi pejuang ekonomi kreatif, Wisma Mandiri 2, Jakarta, Selasa (25/03/2025).

"This program is incredibly helpful for the public to access affordable and quality housing. The priority will, of course, be based on data from creative economy workers and communities that meet the criteria set by the Ministry of PKP. We will review and gather data again on who can benefit from this program," said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene during a meeting at Wisma Mandiri 2, Jakarta on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene made this statement during a meeting attended by Minister of PKP Maruarar Sirait and Deputy Minister of Population and Family Development (Wamendukbangga) Ratu Ayu Isyana Bagoes Oka. They expressed mutual support for the Low-Income Communities (MBR) to access decent housing, including informal workers.

The joint support is aimed at the Housing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) program, which has been prioritized by Kemen PKP, enabling creative economy workers to receive subsidized housing assistance. Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene added that this program could also help stimulate the economy and that the synergy between ministries strengthens social guarantees for housing for creative economy workers.

"The creative economy consists of 17 subsectors, and through the program that Kemen PKP will implement, we can consolidate data on the already established creative economy ecosystem in preparation for Kemen PKP's plans, including for employees, creative economy workers, and communities, as long as they meet the requirements," said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene.

"We will look again at income or salary levels. Even for those who do not have a payslip, they can still benefit from subsidized housing, allowing them to have quality and decent homes," added Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene, who was accompanied by the Director of Infrastructure Facilitation at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Fahmy Akmal.

Meanwhile, Minister of PKP Maruarar Sirait outlined his collaboration with responsible and quality housing developers, as well as financial institutions such as banks that provide subsidized mortgages (KPR). The hope is that this will facilitate access to subsidized housing for individuals without payslips, including food vendors.

"Today, we are discussing preparing subsidized housing for creative economy workers and BKKBN Field Cadres. This aligns with President Prabowo’s directive that this program must maintain quality and be targeted, making it easier for informal workers to buy homes," said Minister Maruarar.

"It’s important to continuously educate consumers on how to access quality subsidized homes. The quality must be maintained, and the subsidy funds must be properly targeted. Therefore, data from the BPS should be used to ensure that only those who are eligible and deserving receive the housing subsidy," added Minister Maruarar.

At the same event, Deputy Minister of Population and Family Development Ratu Ayu Isyana Bagoes Oka praised the inter-ministerial synergy. She hopes that the program from Kemen PKP can benefit a broader range of people.

"It is high time that the state addresses the need for housing for the people. I believe this is a very positive collaboration in finding and preparing subsidized homes, especially for BKKBN Field Cadres. Furthermore, the Ministry of Population and Family Development

(Kemendukbangga/BKKBN) also has a Population Control and Family Development program as part of the Government’s strategy to improve the quality of life for the Indonesian population, starting with their homes," said Deputy Minister Isyana Bagoes Oka.

The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency, under the leadership of Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya, aims to create 27 million jobs over the next five years, especially for the younger generation, focusing on high-quality job creation.

Assisted by Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar, Minister Riefky is pushing the 17 subsectors of the creative economy to fulfill the vision and mission of Prabowo-Gibran, particularly Asta Cita number 3, which focuses on increasing quality jobs, fostering entrepreneurship, and developing the creative industry.

Through strengthening the ecosystem using a hexahelix approach, the Ministry of Creative Economy is expected to become the new engine of national economic growth, starting from the regions.
