Jakarta, 18 June 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) is supporting the accelerated growth of Indonesia’s application industry through the hosting of the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards (APICTA Awards) and the Indonesia Applications Summit (In-Apps) 2026, both of which will be held in Indonesia. The support was conveyed by Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya during a meeting with the Indonesian Telematics Software Association (ASPILUKI) and PT Kaya Kreasi Kreatif.
Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya received a delegation from the Indonesian Telematics Software Association (ASPILUKI) to discuss the organization of the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards (APICTA Awards) and Indonesia Applications Summit (In-Apps) 2026 in Jakarta on Thursday (18/6/2026).
The APICTA Awards is the most prestigious annual information and communication technology innovation competition in the Asia-Pacific region. Meanwhile, In-Apps Summit 2026 is designed as a strategic platform that brings together platform companies, application developers, creative economy players, and digital infrastructure providers to strengthen collaboration and expand business opportunities.
The Minister stated that application development aligns with the priority programs of President Prabowo Subianto as outlined in the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN). He noted that the application subsector continues to demonstrate positive growth trends. This is reflected in the subsector’s investment realization in the first quarter of 2026, which reached IDR 61.33 trillion, representing approximately 47 percent of the 2026 RPJMN target of IDR 131.0–146.46 trillion.
“We are witnessing rapid growth in the application sector. Therefore, the Ministry of Creative Economy focuses on accelerating the development of creative economy players by curating and strengthening their intellectual property, supporting IP commercialization, helping them scale up through greater access to markets and financing, expanding promotional networks, and encouraging them to compete at both national and global levels,” said the Minister.

ASPILUKI, or the Indonesian Telematics Software Association, is a national software and information technology industry association established in the 1990s. The organization represents Indonesian ICT companies and has consistently promoted the development of digital innovation both domestically and internationally. ASPILUKI Chairman Djarot Subiantoro emphasized that APICTA serves as an important platform for creative economy players, particularly those in the digital sector.
“One of the key challenges facing our software and IT industry today is digital downstreaming. APICTA is important because it provides international exposure, and this year’s event in Indonesia offers a valuable opportunity for young application entrepreneurs to showcase their capabilities on a larger stage,” said Djarot.
Commissioner of PT Kaya Kreasi Kreatif, Aditya Adiguna, explained that two new programs will be introduced as part of APICTA 2026 to strengthen the capacity of innovators and digital industry players through business development learning, product marketing, and the commercialization of creative innovations.

“The theme we have chosen is ‘Connecting Innovation Across Asia Pacific and Beyond’ because participants will come from countries across the Asia-Pacific region and compete with one another. Beyond the competition itself, we hope they will be able to build valuable networks and collaborations with fellow participants,” Aditya explained.
He further stated that In-Apps Summit 2026 is expected to serve as a platform that strengthens Indonesia’s application ecosystem through collaboration among industry stakeholders. According to him, the application subsector is becoming increasingly important as demand for digital services continues to grow among both consumers and businesses.

“The application sector has become a major industry, and the demand for doing business within this ecosystem is very high. We hope this initiative will become a flagship event for the application subsector and gain recognition across the region. In-Apps is Indonesia’s first summit dedicated specifically to the application subsector, and we hope this pilot project can expand its reach regionally and eventually globally,” said Aditya.
During the meeting, the Minister was accompanied by Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology Muhammad Neil El Himam and Director of Applications Tri Wahyudi. Also in attendance were Managing Director of PT Kaya Kreasi Kreatif Cessa Virlianti, APICTA Steering Committee Chair Sylvia W. Sumarlin, and APICTA Secretary General Richard Kartawijaya.
