Jakarta, 22 January 2026 — The Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) supports the development and promotion of the animated film Pelangi di Mars through the exploration of collaborative activation initiatives with various partners, including InJourney Airports.
The Vice Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, received an audience with representatives of InJourney Airports and the behind-the-scenes team of the animated film Pelangi di Mars at the Office of the Ministry of Creative Economy, Jakarta, Thursday (22/1/2026).
The support was conveyed during an audience between the Vice Minister of Creative Economy / Vice Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, representatives of InJourney Airports, and the production team of Pelangi di Mars at Autograph Tower, Thamrin Nine, Jakarta, Thursday (22/1/2026).
“Today’s meeting is certainly intended to build sustainable connections so that the activations carried out can reach a wider public,” said Vice Minister Irene.
The Ministry of Creative Economy consistently supports animated films created by Indonesian talent that adopt innovative creative approaches, including the combination of live-action and extended reality (XR) technology as applied in Pelangi di Mars.
Vice Minister Irene Umar expressed confidence that the development of the intellectual property (IP) of Pelangi di Mars has strong potential to be carried out sustainably, including promotional content placement at airports and the development of merchandise that can appeal across generations.
“One promotional approach that can also be intensified is encouraging the development of merchandise derived from the Pelangi di Mars IP, so that it carries added value in strengthening the identity of each character featured in the animated film,” she added.

Pelangi di Mars is produced by Mahakarya Pictures, a production house operating in the audiovisual sector, covering film production, music videos, television commercials, tutorial videos, and corporate profiles. This audience followed previous visits by Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya on 13 January 2026, and by the Vice Minister on 5 December 2025, to one of Mahakarya Group’s business units, DossGuava XR Studio, which serves as the filming location for Pelangi di Mars.
“Mahakarya utilizes virtual production technology and Unreal Engine with 100 percent Indonesian behind-the-scenes talent. Our hope is that the Pelangi di Mars IP, which began its research process in 2020, can grow and develop alongside Indonesian children in the future,” said Dendi Reynando, Producer of the animated film Pelangi di Mars.
As an airport operator, InJourney Airports frequently carries out creative activations so that airports are not merely transit spaces, especially during major holidays. Previously, InJourney Airports also collaborated with the animated IP Jumbo, which was well received by both domestic and international travelers during last year’s Eid holiday.
“When we first saw the teaser trailer of Pelangi di Mars, it was extraordinary, and we would be very happy if this IP could be present at airports to provide a different experience for passengers, allowing them to learn more about this animated film. Going forward, we hope there will be more collaborations with the Pelangi di Mars team to reach a broader audience. Moreover, the Ministry of Creative Economy has become part of InJourney Airports’ transformation involving various creative industries,” said Veri Setiady, Commercial Director of InJourney Airports.
