“Watching this feels nostalgic, and I feel so proud afterward, because this is one of Indonesia’s original IPs (Intellectual Properties) that we all grew up with. It’s an IP that has lasted from our childhood into adulthood, continuing to be passed down to new generations. To me, that’s incredible. This is truly a national treasure,” said Deputy Minister Irene during the event on Saturday, July 12, 2025.
Petualangan Sherina the Musical is being held from July 11–20, 2025, with a total of 15 performances during the school holiday period. The iconic story of Sherina and Sadam is brought back to life in a modern and immersive theater format, featuring contemporary stage design and re-arranged versions of beloved songs that have long resonated with the Indonesian public.

This year also marks the 25th anniversary of the original Petualangan Sherina film, making the musical a deeply meaningful moment for audiences across generations. Deputy Minister Irene noted that this kind of production is born from cross-sector collaboration, embodying the spirit of the hexahelix model—bringing together artists, the business sector, and communities.
“That’s why we have the Ministry of Creative Economy—to work hand in hand with young people and the young at heart to make collaboration possible. There’s no room for ego here because creativity knows no bounds. No sectoral ego, no personal ego—what we have is pure collaboration,” added Irene.
