Jakarta, January 15, 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency is exploring the development of the digital creative economy ecosystem through Indonesia’s original Intellectual Property (IP). One of the highlights is Indonesia's first racing IP.

The discussion took place at Menara Merdeka, Jakarta, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, involving Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of Creative Economy Agency Irene Umar, along with Sekuya and Radical Motorsport. Sekuya is an Indonesian Web3 gaming company specializing in anime-style games and virtual worlds, while Radical Motorsport is known for producing high-performance sports and lightweight racing cars.
The meeting focused on Indonesia Legends and Web3 Racing Legends (W3RL) as Indonesia’s pioneering racing IPs. Both Sekuya and Radical Motorsport have previously collaborated with the Ministry of Creative Economy, including during the launch of the new Creative Economy logo alongside three other local IPs at the Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, on December 8, 2024.
“In terms of the creative economy, one opportunity we can explore is using Mandalika as the racing track. We can also collaborate with events at TMII and Ancol by setting up simulators there,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene.
“We also aim to ensure that local games are consistently featured in national events like the President’s Cup,” added Muhammad Neil El Himam, Deputy for Digital and Technology Creativity at the Ministry of Creative Economy, who also attended the meeting.
This collaboration will be Indonesia's first to integrate the virtual and real-world racing experience. Winners of the virtual simulator racing competition will have the chance to drive actual race cars on the Mandalika Circuit. Additionally, the event will be activated by Indonesia Legends, starting with the launch of a racing jacket as merchandise available for public purchase.
“We believe this idea is not only original but also necessary for Indonesia, especially in the context of creative economy development. Many talents out there need programs and campaigns like this,” said Denda Hendro, Creative Director of Radical Indonesia, accompanied by Hilman Sani, Director of Business Development at Radical Indonesia.
The Ministry of Creative Economy strongly supports this collaboration, particularly as Sekuya, an Indonesian IP, has already made strides in the global fashion scene. Sekuya is optimistic about the partnership’s potential.
“This is the first campaign in Indonesia that merges gamers and racers,” said Joshua Budiman, Co-Founder and CEO of Sekuya.
“What’s exciting is that this initiative is already supported by various projects and brands from Dubai, the UK, the US, Japan, and Singapore. This shows the incredible potential for Indonesian brands to gain international recognition,” Joshua added.
