“From the first glance, the strong presence of local IP (Intellectual Property) is immediately felt—the characters are adorable yet visually striking. We are pleased that Volkswagen views local IP not merely as artwork, but as part of a lifestyle,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar during the launch of the VW ID. Buzz, which coincided with the opening of the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025 at ICE BSD, Tangerang Regency, on Wednesday, 23 July 2025.
The collaboration encompasses three main pillars: Live Painting, Design Competition, and the EKRAF Corner, each representing a tangible form of synergy between the automotive sector and the creative industry. Live Painting features local artists creating works directly on the body of the ID. Buzz vehicle, the Design Competition encourages the creation of original designs by Indonesian talent, while the EKRAF Corner serves as a curated space for creative MSME players at the Volkswagen booth throughout the exhibition.
