Jakarta, March 14, 2025 – The Museum of Toy (MoT) has partnered with Carstensz Mall to launch a department store named LOT No 1/2. LOT No. 1/2 is a fashion and art-themed store with a unique interior concept that serves as a platform for local brands to showcase their products at the mall.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Minister of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, who attended the grand opening of LOT No 1/2 at Carstensz Mall in Gading Serpong on Friday, March 14, 2025, stated that this collaboration is a significant breakthrough that opens up opportunities for the creative economy to enter the global market.
"Until now, people thought that local brands could only appear at bazaars, but now MoT and Carstensz Mall are thinking outside the box. They have collaborated to bring local brands into a department store. Thank you to MoT and Carstensz Mall for their dedication to creating a mall where local brands can showcase their products," Irene said.
Irene further emphasized that the presence of such department stores proves that the creative economy in Indonesia is thriving and becoming The New Engine of Growth.

"We are saying this is not just about SMEs. The creative economy encompasses everything, from show entrepreneurs and SMEs to large-scale businesses, all under the creative economy umbrella. Creativity can be one of the biggest contributors to the country’s GDP, and that is what we hope to demonstrate," Irene added.
MoT Founder, Deasy Varianti Susanto, explained that their mission is to support the growth of local creative entrepreneurs in fashion. Furthermore, artists can showcase their work in one space, gaining recognition both domestically and globally.

"We aim to be a platform for creative individuals so they are not only recognized in Indonesia, but we also want to help amplify their brands globally. Local brands are just as good as international ones. We are opening up opportunities for other local brands to join and eventually create more LOT No 1/2 stores in other malls," Deasy said.
Chief Operating Officer of Carstensz Mall, Vonny Hermawan, added that Carstensz Mall provides a space for SMEs and local brand owners to display their products within the mall. LOT No. 1/2 is described as the only department store featuring local brands that blend art and fashion.

"We love the concept of LOT because it focuses on thinking about and helping local brands. The concept is interesting, and Carstensz Mall is excited about this kind of idea. We want to help SMEs and local brands grow their economies," said Vonny.
During the visit, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar was accompanied by the Deputy for Culture, Creativity, and Design, Yuke Sri Rahayu, and the Acting Director of Visual Arts and Performing Arts, Dadam Mahdar.
The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency, under the leadership of Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya, targets the creation of 27 million jobs over the next five years, particularly for the youth, with a focus on quality employment opportunities.

With the support of Irene Umar as Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Minister of the Creative Economy Agency, Minister of Creative Economy Riefky is pushing 17 subsectors of the creative economy to fulfill the vision and mission of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, especially Asta Cita number 3, which is to improve the quality of employment, encourage entrepreneurship, and develop the creative industries.
Through strengthening the ecosystem via the hexahelix approach, the Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency is expected to become The New Engine of Growth, a driver for national economic growth starting from the regions.
