Jakarta, March 13, 2025 – Inter-agency collaboration, in line with the directives of President Prabowo Subianto, is key to boosting national economic growth. The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote data-driven policy formulation and decision-making at the BPS Building in Jakarta on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

Minister of Creative Economy, Riefky, expressed his appreciation to BPS for its role in supporting the development of the creative economy in Indonesia. The Ministry of Creative Economy is committed to increasing quality employment opportunities for the younger generation through the growth of the creative economy, which aligns with the President’s third Asta Cita goal.
"I extend my appreciation to BPS. Currently, we are focusing on developing the creative industry to create quality job opportunities for the younger generation as a form of support for the President's vision," said Minister of Creative Economy Riefky.

Minister of Creative Economy Riefky noted that data from BPS indicates that the creative economy sector has recorded significant growth in recent years, largely driven by passionate and creative youth. Notably, data concerning the creative economy’s contribution to GDP, employment absorption, and investment value. To further boost the development of Indonesia’s creative economy, several strategies are needed, including:
Alignment of Creative Economy Business Classification (KBLI Ekraf)
Completion of Macro Indicator Data for the Creative Economy (IKU Ekraf)
Optimization of BPS Data
Formation of a Special Work Unit

Through the implementation of these strategies, a collaboration between the Ministry of Creative Economy and BPS in updating creative economy data is expected to significantly support the expansion of the creative economy sector, providing quality job opportunities for the younger generation and contributing to a substantial increase in the creative economy’s share of national GDP.
"The creative economy is showing significant growth, particularly driven by young people. Strategies such as the Alignment of KBLI Ekraf, Completion of Macro Indicator Data, Optimization of BPS Data, and the Formation of a Special Work Unit are crucial to improving the quality of creative economy data and information," emphasized Minister of Creative Economy Riefky.
The signing of this MoU is hoped to be a turning point in advancing the nation’s creative economy sector.
"The collaboration between the Ministry of Creative Economy and BPS marks a very promising beginning for the development of the creative economy in Indonesia, covering data provision, methodology development, human resource development, and support for census and survey activities," added Minister of Creative Economy Riefky.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reaffirmed BPS’s commitment to supporting the creative economy’s growth through strengthened data. BPS pledged to work with the Ministry of Creative Economy to provide accurate and up-to-date data related to the creative economy’s GDP, employment, and exports. In this collaboration, BPS will also utilize administrative and registration data from the Ministry of Creative Economy to enhance statistical data and support the creative economy's development. The specific objective of this cooperation is to increase the sector’s contribution to state revenue and support the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045. It is hoped that this effort will help create job opportunities for the younger generation and improve their quality of life.
