Jakarta, 16 August 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy is set to present a major collaborative masterpiece blending traditional and contemporary dance at the 80th Independence Day Carnival, held at the National Monument (Monas) on 17 August 2025. Through dance troupes Ayodya Pala and Naluri Manca, the Ministry aims to highlight the strategic role of the arts as both a driver of economic growth and a guardian of national identity.

“Thank you to Ayodya Pala and Naluri Manca for contributing to the 80th Independence Day Carnival. Although the number of performers is limited, the spirit they show is outstanding. This performance represents the performing arts subsector as an important element of the creative economy,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya at the Pesona Indonesia Film Building, Jakarta, on Saturday, 16 August 2025.
Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky added that the Ministry also seeks to open wider promotional opportunities for both the public and regional creative practitioners through tomorrow’s artistic showcase.
“This performance will be an important moment as it will be witnessed directly by the President and audiences across Indonesia, and it serves as a valuable opportunity for the performing arts subsector to gain wider recognition,” he explained.

During the final rehearsal, Ayodya Pala—a foundation dedicated to the preservation of Indonesian traditional arts—and Naluri Manca, a dance studio from Bali, showcased the nation’s cultural identity through a fusion of traditional and contemporary artistic expression. The performance underlines the significance of the performing arts in strengthening cultural identity through the spirit of Indonesia’s rich diversity.
Denta Mandra Pradipta Budi Astomo, Vice Chair of the Ayodya Pala Foundation, expressed hope that the performing arts will continue to play a role in advancing the national creative economy.

“In the carnival, we will perform Tari Bhinneka, a dance representing 15 regions at the center of Indonesia’s creative economic development. Through this work, we hope the public will continue to appreciate Indonesia’s rich cultural diversity, and that performing arts will grow as a vital part of the creative economy subsector,” said Denta.
Through the participation of national dance groups in the Independence Day Carnival, the Ministry of Creative Economy hopes that the performing arts will become more widely recognized and deliver tangible contributions to the development of Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem as a new engine of economic growth driven from the regions.
