Ponorogo, May 24, 2025 – The Ponorogo Creative Festival (PCF) 2025 officially concluded on Saturday, May 24, 2025, after three days of vibrant festivities. The closing ceremony, attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Creative Economy, featured a series of performances, including the Creative Dance Festival, which involved local studios and schools, a “Recycle & Bamboo” parade joined by students from various educational levels, and musical showcases that blended ethnic and modern elements.
Dok. Biro Komunikasi Kemenekraf/Bekraf - Ponorogo Creative Festival (PCF) 2025 resmi ditutup pada Sabtu, 24 Mei 2025 dimeriahkan dengan berbagai pertunjukan, antara lain Festival Tari Kreasi yang melibatkan sanggar dan sekolah, karnaval bertema “Recycle & Bamboo”, Ponorogo, Jawa Tengah (24/05/25).
Ponorogo Regent, Sugiri Sancoko, highlighted the importance of strengthening the creative economy through local culture. He noted that the traditional Reog performance has supported the livelihoods of more than 21,000 people in the Ponorogo community, both directly and through related industries.
"Culture can serve as the foundation of the economy when managed consistently and sustainably. Through collaboration between the government and all stakeholders, we can create a domino effect that allows us to grow together," he said.
He also reaffirmed Ponorogo’s commitment to joining the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) under the Craft and Folk Art category, while encouraging cross-sector collaboration through the hexalix approach.

An artist and creative economy practitioner from Kuala Putro Art Gallery, Moh. Syaiful Arif Y., welcomed the initiative. "We hope Ponorogo’s participation in the UCCN will amplify the economic impact felt directly by local artisans and creative economy talents," he said.
This year’s festival carried the theme Pring Harmonic, derived from pring (bamboo) and harmonic (harmony), symbolizing a call to protect the environment in a sustainable and harmonious way.

Following PCF 2025, Ponorogo will continue strengthening its creative sector through initiatives such as “Ngebet Sentra Industri Bambu” and the Grebeg Suro Art Exhibition, which are expected to broaden the contribution of the creative economy to inclusive and sustainable local development.
The Head Secretary of the Ministry of Creative Economy, Dessy Ruhati, was also present at the closing ceremony, underscoring the government’s support for the development of a culture-based creative economy ecosystem at the regional level.
