Jakarta, 23 July 2025 — Ahead of the commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, the government officially launched the national theme and logo that will be used simultaneously across the country. The formulation and design process of this year’s logo was initiated by the Ministry of Creative Economy (Kementerian Ekraf) in collaboration with the Indonesian Graphic Designers Association (ADGI), and involved the Ministry of State Secretariat.

At the launch event held at the Presidential Palace, President Prabowo Subianto stated that the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence is a moment to reflect on the long history of the nation’s struggle. The launch took place at the State Palace, Jakarta, in a hybrid format attended directly by members of the Merah Putih Cabinet and legislative leaders, while institutional representatives joined virtually.
“Eight decades have passed since this nation stood independent, built through the spirit of struggle and the sacrifice of all Indonesians,” said President Prabowo.
This year’s theme for the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence is “Bersatu Berdaulat, Rakyat Sejahtera, Indonesia Maju” (United and Sovereign, Prosperous People, Advanced Indonesia). The official logo was designed through an open competition for professional graphic designers from across Indonesia.

Out of 245 submissions, the top five curated works were presented before an independent panel of judges, before President Prabowo personally selected the final design. The President also emphasized that the theme must not remain a mere slogan.
“This theme must guide our actions and policies. The logo launched today is not just a visual identity, but a symbol of national unity,” stated President Prabowo.

The logo features the numbers ‘8’ and ‘0’ intertwined to form an infinity symbol, representing eternal unity as the foundation of sovereignty and the people’s prosperity. The Minister of Creative Economy (Menteri Ekraf), Teuku Riefky Harsya, expressed his appreciation to all participating designers.
“We value the extraordinary dedication of the designers who produced high-quality work within a limited timeframe. This process not only highlights creativity, but also strengthens the nation’s values,” said Minister Teuku Riefky.

Minister Teuku Riefky added that the logo selection received direct guidance from President Prabowo, who contributed strategic input to the development of its design philosophy. The official launch of this logo marks its role as a national symbol for all activities commemorating the 80th Independence celebration.

“The Ministry of Creative Economy is committed to preserving collaborative space and strengthening the capacity of national creative talents through adaptive policies that support local creators. The Independence Day momentum is not an endpoint, but the beginning of reinforcing Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem,” said Minister Teuku Riefky, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar.
