Jakarta, 15 December 2025 — The Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency is ready to mobilize the creative economy sector to support the economic and social recovery of communities in disaster-affected areas of Sumatra. This commitment is part of the follow-up to the directives of President Prabowo Subianto delivered during the Plenary Cabinet Meeting held at the State Palace on Monday, 15 December 2025, aimed at accelerating post-disaster response efforts.

During the Plenary Cabinet Meeting, President Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed the government’s commitment to disaster management in Sumatra. “We pray that our brothers and sisters will recover soon, and we are working hard to restore conditions so that reconstruction and rehabilitation can begin immediately,” said the President.
In the same meeting, President Prabowo also discussed a number of strategic national issues, including efforts to maintain economic stability toward the end of the year and to ensure optimal coordination across ministries and institutions in addressing the impacts of disasters and the accompanying economic challenges.
Following the President’s directives, the Minister of Creative Economy / Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, conveyed deep empathy and concern for communities affected by the disaster in Sumatra. The Minister emphasized that the government’s presence is not limited to emergency response, but also extends to the recovery process so that communities can rise again and resume a decent livelihood.

“In times of disaster, the presence of the state must truly be felt by the people. Recovery is not only about physical reconstruction, but also about restoring the social and economic lives of communities,” said the Minister of Creative Economy.
Furthermore, the Minister underscored the readiness of the Ministry of Creative Economy to contribute to the post-disaster recovery phase through strengthening creativity-based economic activities and local potential. These efforts are aligned with the Asta Cita of the administration of President Prabowo Subianto, particularly in strengthening human development and promoting inclusive and equitable economic growth. The creative economy is viewed as having a strategic role as an early driver of community economic revival, while also opening opportunities for entrepreneurship and job creation.
Creative economy subsectors such as culinary, crafts, fashion, performing arts, and creative content can be involved in the recovery process of affected areas through capacity building, mentoring, and cross-sector collaboration.
The Ministry of Creative Economy is ready to coordinate with relevant ministries and institutions as well as regional governments to ensure that creative economy players in affected areas can return to being productive and competitive, while positioning the creative economy as the new engine of growth in the national recovery process.

The Plenary Cabinet Meeting was chaired by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, accompanied by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
Also in attendance were the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, General Agus Subiyanto; the Chief of the National Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo; the Head of the National Nutrition Agency, Dadan Hindayana; the Cabinet Secretary, Teddy Indra Wijaya; as well as ministers and deputy ministers of the Red and White Cabinet.
