Jakarta, June 2, 2026 – The 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), delivered the keynote address at The 4th Proficient Conference. SBY emphasized that sustainable development is not merely a slogan, but a moral responsibility as well as a long-term strategy for the future of humanity.
Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya attended The 4th Proficient Conference 2026 at Perbanas Institute, Jakarta, Tuesday (2/6/2026).
“The future of sustainable development will not be determined solely by governments, corporations, or financial institutions. The future will be shaped by collaboration. Sustainable development is not merely a slogan. It is a moral responsibility, a political choice, an economic strategy, and a long-term investment in the future of humanity. We must revive the spirit of collaboration, solidarity, and multilateralism. This is why conferences such as Proficient 2026 are so important,” said SBY at the forum held at Perbanas Institute, Jakarta, on Tuesday (2/6).
Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, who also attended the forum, underscored the importance of hexahelix collaboration among the government, academia, and other stakeholders in creating innovations that are not only competitive but also built upon a strong foundation of integrity, positioning the creative economy as the new engine of growth.
“Digital transformation and the growth of the creative economy require support through research, talent development, and cross-sector collaboration. Therefore, synergy among academia, industry, and government is essential to generate sustainable, inclusive innovations that deliver tangible benefits to society,” said the Minister.
The international-scale scientific forum served as a platform for exchanging ideas, research findings, and the latest innovations in sustainable development, digital transformation, and the future economy. The conference brought together stakeholders from the education, industry, financial, and government sectors to discuss the challenges and opportunities of sustainable development amid rapid technological advancement.

Carrying the theme Integrity-Driven Innovation: Reimagining Business, Finance, and Digital Transformation for Sustainable Development, the conference aimed to serve as a platform for the exchange of ideas, academic discussions, and the dissemination of high-quality research findings that contribute to sustainable development.
Rector of Perbanas Institute, Hermanto Siregar, explained that the theme was chosen based on the belief that global transformation and sustainable development can only be achieved through innovation rooted in integrity. According to Hermanto, technological advancement and the emergence of new business models must be accompanied by adequate risk mitigation strategies.
“This theme was selected because we recognize that amid the rapidly changing global landscape, sustainable transformation and progress can only be achieved when innovation is firmly grounded in integrity. This synergy will shape better financial practices, drive digital evolution, and uphold ethical standards in the business world. Such innovation will ultimately give rise to new and more adaptive business models. Therefore, comprehensive risk mitigation strategies must continue to be developed and implemented with discipline,” he said.
In addition to the Minister of Creative Economy, the conference was attended by Deputy Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono, economist Agus Martowardojo, Chairman of the Indonesian Banks Association Hery Gunardi, members of the Perbanas Institute leadership, academics, and representatives from industry and the financial sector.
