Jakarta, 17 December 2025 — Minister of Creative Economy / Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, emphasized the strengthening of creative economy policies and institutions as key drivers of the national economy. This was conveyed during a strategic meeting with the Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), Muhammad Qodari, at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 17 December 2025. The Minister of Creative Economy and the Head of KSP agreed on the importance of mainstreaming priority sectors such as culinary, fashion, crafts, film, games, and applications within national development policies, as well as accelerating the issuance of the Presidential Regulation on the Creative Economy Master Plan 2026–2045.

Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Teuku Riefky Harsya, melaksanakan pertemuan strategis dengan Kepala Kantor Staf Kepresidenan (KSP), Muhammad Qodari di Kantor Kementerian EKraf, Jakarta, Rabu (17/12/2025).

“The creative economy has become a new engine of national economic growth. Several sectors prioritized by President Prabowo—such as culinary, fashion, crafts, games, film, animation, and applications—have made significant contributions through increased investment, exports of creative products, job creation, and tangible contributions to national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth,” said the Minister of Creative Economy.

The Minister of Creative Economy presented an overview of the Ministry’s performance over the past year. The presentation highlighted various program achievements, policies, and strategic measures that have been implemented to encourage sustainable and inclusive growth of the creative economy sector.

“The creative economy is no longer a complement, but has become a main driver of Indonesia’s economy going forward,” the Minister of Creative Economy affirmed.

During the meeting, the Minister of Creative Economy also expressed his expectation that the Presidential Staff Office would provide support and strategic collaboration to strengthen the position of the creative economy at the national level. Such support is considered crucial to ensure that the creative economy is increasingly mainstreamed within national development policies.

The Minister of Creative Economy stressed the importance of mainstreaming the creative economy in presidential speeches, as well as strengthening this sector within the President’s priority programs as outlined in ASTA CITA, and within the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) through National Priorities. According to him, policy alignment at the central level will generate a multiplier effect extending to the regions.

In addition, the Minister of Creative Economy encouraged the acceleration of the signing of the Presidential Regulation on the Creative Economy Master Plan 2026–2045, which is currently undergoing the harmonization stage and is scheduled for 22 December 2025. The Minister of Creative Economy also highlighted the importance of strengthening creative economy policies and institutions at the regional level, including through revisions to the Regional Government Law.

In response, Head of the Presidential Staff Office Muhammad Qodari welcomed the proposal for collaboration from the Minister of Creative Economy. He acknowledged that Indonesia’s creative economy sector is growing rapidly and demonstrating tangible impacts, including in the film subsector, which is capable of absorbing a large workforce within a single production.

“For example, the film Agak Lain has been watched by more than seven million people. If we calculate its revenue, it has already reached hundreds of billions of rupiah. From just one film, we can see how enormous the potential of the creative economy is. The creative economy is, in fact, inevitable—we as a society have reached a point where creative economy products are in demand and possess extraordinary economic potential,” said Qodari.

Qodari emphasized that the Presidential Staff Office is ready to move forward together with the Minister of Creative Economy in advocating for the strengthening of this sector. “God willing, we at KSP will stand together with the Minister of Creative Economy, moving forward in accordance with existing corridors, under all circumstances. This includes efforts to encourage legislative revisions and policy strengthening—we will fight together,” he concluded.
