Jakarta, July 1, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy (Ekraf), through its Center for Creative Economy Human Resource Development, has established a strategic partnership with the Indonesia Creative Cities Network (ICCN). The Cooperation Agreement (PKS) aims to strengthen the development of creative human resources (HR) in line with industry demands and regional potential.
Secretary of the Ministry of Creative Economy, Dessy Ruhati, witnessed the signing of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between the Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) and the Indonesia Creative Cities Network (ICCN) in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
Secretary of the Ministry of Creative Economy/Secretary of the Creative Economy Agency, Dessy Ruhati, emphasized that the creative economy is driven by the ability of individuals to generate ideas, innovation, and value-added creative works. Improving the quality of human resources, she noted, is essential to enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesia’s creative economy.
"The greater the capacity of creative economy practitioners to adapt and innovate, the greater their opportunities to create creative products and works that can compete at both the national and global levels," said Dessy during the event held at Aston Kartika Hotel, Jakarta, on Wednesday (July 1).
Dessy further highlighted that human resource development requires cross-sector collaboration. Synergy among the government, industry, communities, and regional creative networks forms the foundation for building a sustainable creative economy ecosystem.
"We welcome the collaboration between the Center for Creative Economy Human Resource Development and ICCN. We hope this partnership will expand access to learning opportunities and strengthen the capabilities of creative economy human resources in accordance with regional needs and industry developments," she added.

Head of the Center for Creative Economy Human Resource Development, R. Adi Mukhtar Rivai, explained that the partnership is part of a broader initiative to establish an umbrella program for human resource development.
"In developing creative economy human resources, we need an umbrella program that creates a common business language among government institutions, business actors, financial institutions, and the creative economy hexahelix stakeholders," Adi said.
The scope of the collaboration includes human resource mapping, data and information exchange, facilitation of technology access, development of learning materials, and strengthening the creative ecosystem network.
ICCN is a nationwide network of Indonesia’s Creative Cities and Regencies committed to promoting creative city development through inclusive, sustainable, and competitive principles. The organization currently connects more than 254 Creative City and Regency initiatives across Indonesia, serving as a collaborative platform that encourages innovation while generating social, economic, and cultural impact.
