Supporting IGX and IDE 2026, Ministry of Creative Economy Strengthens Event-Based Local IP Development

Jakarta, 18 June 2026 – Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, expressed support for the organization of the Indonesia Game Expo (IGX) and Indonesia Diecast Expo (IDE) 2026. According to the Minister, these events serve as examples of how creative events can leverage Intellectual Property (IP) as a value-added component while strengthening the broader creative economy ecosystem.

Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, received a delegation from Langgeng Pariwara Internasional at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office in Jakarta on Thursday (18 June 2026).

He emphasized that both the sustainability of events and the emergence of new IPs created by industry players are important aspects that deserve continued support, as they contribute to the development of Indonesia’s gaming and craft subsectors.

“At the same time, we want to strengthen the IP generated from content creators and local exhibitors participating in these events. The Ministry of Creative Economy is ready to collaborate with IGX and IDE through various strategic partnerships to further enhance the organization of creative events in Indonesia,” said the Minister during a meeting with Langgeng Pariwara Internasional at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office on Thursday (18/6).

IGX is an annual pop culture celebration that offers immersive experiences by bringing together anime, gaming, and comics on a single platform. Meanwhile, IDE is a well-established event IP recognized as the largest diecast community and collectors’ hub in Southeast Asia.

IGX Chief Executive Officer, Andry Gosal, stated that IGX was created to demonstrate the broad and interconnected nature of the pop culture ecosystem, spanning entertainment and various creative products. The event continuously showcases a diverse range of IPs as part of the visitor experience.

“This event is designed to provide visitors with an enjoyable and interactive experience. People can come to play, try various products, and directly experience the quality of games and locally developed products. Therefore, we do not want visitors to simply shop or browse, but also to gain memorable experiences that foster greater appreciation for the works of Indonesian creators,” said Andry.

Langgeng Pariwara Internasional Account Executive, Irfanda Fikiransyah, explained that IDE 2026 will carry the spirit of togetherness. The event will also introduce an original IP character named Pepi, which is expected to strengthen the event’s identity.

“Through this event, we hope to stimulate economic growth while nurturing local talent. Indonesia has many talented diecast customizers, some of whom have even collaborated with globally recognized diecast brands. This demonstrates that Indonesian creative talent possesses strong competitiveness both nationally and internationally,” said Irfanda.

During the meeting, the Minister was accompanied by Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology, Muhammad Neil El Himam, and Director of Games, Luat S.P. Sihombing.
