According to the 2023 Global City Index, Jakarta currently ranks 74th out of 156 global cities. Hence, synergy between regional governments and ministries is essential in strengthening the creative economy ecosystem to become more advanced and globally competitive.

Governor Pramono added, “One of the nation's greatest strengths lies in the creative economy, which is part of Jakarta’s DNA. As we know, Jakarta contributes 11% to the national GDP. Therefore, Jakarta must enhance its global competitiveness by improving the creative economy, creating a friendlier image, simplifying licensing processes, and ensuring all of this becomes part of Jakarta’s future improvements.”

Ministry of Creative Economy is confident that the creative economy can serve as a new engine of growth for both Jakarta and Indonesia as a whole. Currently, Jakarta is one of eight provinces that have formally integrated the creative economy into the structure of one of its regional agencies. This institutional recognition is expected to enable more optimal management of the creative economy ecosystem and deliver tangible contributions to the creative industries in Jakarta.

“As a historic city, Jakarta is a shared source of pride. Every creative work born here reflects the spirit of the nation. That’s why we are committed to continuing our collaboration with the Jakarta Provincial Government in building an inclusive, competitive, and sustainable creative economy ecosystem. This is perfectly aligned with President Prabowo’s vision and the Indonesia Maju roadmap toward Golden Indonesia 2045,” emphasized Teuku Riefky.
