The Minister of Creative Economy Encourages the Strengthening of the Creative Economy through the Tatler BEST Awards 2026

Jakarta, 10 February, 2026 – The Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Teuku Riefky Harsya, received an audience with Tatler Asia at the Autograph Building, Jakarta, on Tuesday (2/10). The meeting discussed plans for the organization of the Tatler BEST Awards Asia Pacific 2026 in Indonesia.

The Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, received the Tatler Asia delegation at the Office of the Ministry of Creative Economy, Jakarta, on Tuesday (2/10/2026).

The Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, stated that the meeting served as an opportunity to introduce Tatler Asia’s vision in supporting talents, industry players, and stakeholders within Indonesia’s creative economy. As one of the leading lifestyle media outlets, Tatler Asia can serve as a strategic partner in promoting actors across the fashion, craft, culinary, fine arts and performing arts, as well as design subsectors.

“We appreciate Tatler Asia’s commitment to contributing to the development of Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem through the planned organization of the Tatler BEST Awards Asia Pacific in Jakarta. As an international-scale lifestyle media platform, Tatler Asia holds a strategic role in promoting the works, talents, and creative economy players of Indonesia, while also strengthening collaborative networks among stakeholders at the regional and global levels,” said the Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya.

He further added that in the fields of hospitality and gastronomy, Indonesia frequently sends chefs abroad. They are able to showcase their distinctive expertise, such as preparing signature dishes or national cuisine.

“Indonesia has a great number of talented individuals across various industry sectors who deserve to be showcased at both the national and global levels,” he concluded.

The Tatler BEST Awards Asia Pacific 2026 is an international-scale awards event organized by Tatler to curate and recognize the best in the Asia-Pacific hospitality sector, encompassing restaurants, hotels, bars, destinations, as well as leading industry players, through a series of events, activations, and global media exposure.

Meanwhile, the Executive Managing Director Indonesia–Malaysia of Tatler Asia, Gerrie Beh, stated that Indonesia is regarded as a strategic partner as well as a fitting host for the Tatler BEST Awards Asia Pacific 2026. This assessment is based on the rapid growth of the hospitality and gastronomy industries in the country, supported by infrastructure and a creative ecosystem that is increasingly mature and competitive at both the regional and global levels.

“We will invite approximately one thousand leading industry figures from the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region to Indonesia, while also showcasing the best of Asia-Pacific to our audiences across the region. This partnership will be strengthened through an eight-month multi-platform content series specifically designed to highlight Indonesia,” he explained.

By hosting the Tatler BEST Awards Asia Pacific 2026 in Jakarta or Bali, Indonesia will be placed in the international spotlight. The organizers are targeting the event to generate more than 18 million impressions across Tatler platforms throughout Asia.

“This is a unique opportunity to promote Indonesia’s culinary and hospitality sectors. Both Jakarta and Bali are highly feasible options, given their infrastructure readiness and hotel capacity.
