Jakarta, 10 December 2025 — The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency continues to encourage the creativity of local musicians through the Akselerasi Kreatif (AKTIF) Musik Program. A collaboration with the music group Begundal Lowokwaru has resulted in the music video “Hello, We’re Coming Back,” which was officially released digitally on Tuesday, 9 December 2025, as a concrete form of government support for Indonesia’s music ecosystem.
Kementerian Ekonomi Kreatif/Badan Ekonomi Kreatif melalui Direktorat Musik, Deputi Bidang Kreativitas Media, memfasilitasi produksi video musik "Hello, We're Coming Back" oleh Begundal Lowokwaru melalui program Akselerasi Kreatif (AKTIF) Musik.
“The AKTIF Musik Program is an initiative aimed at strengthening promotion, distribution, and capacity-building for local musicians across various regions. Through this facilitation and mentorship, the Ministry hopes to reinforce both local and national music ecosystems,” said Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya.
Through the facilitation of the Directorate of Music, the production of “Hello, We’re Coming Back” became part of the campaign celebrating 26 years of Begundal Lowokwaru’s journey as an independent music scene collective in Indonesia.

Begundal Lowokwaru also emphasized their commitment to further developing visual exploration and deepening artistic expression in their future releases. The newly released music video is expected to represent a new chapter in their creative journey while reviving the signature energy that has defined the band since its inception.
“No matter how far we wander, there is always a path home — to where the spirit lives, to where hope once dimmed. Hello, We’re Coming Back is a reminder that the journey home is also part of the struggle,” said one of Begundal Lowokwaru’s members in their official statement.

The band expressed appreciation for the facilitation provided by the government, highlighting the importance of state support for communities often seen as minorities, including the punk music community.
Meanwhile, the music video production took place in various locations across Malang City and Batu City, East Java. Urban landscapes, alleys, and peripheral public spaces were chosen to represent the cultural roots that have shaped Begundal Lowokwaru since their early formation.

Directed by Qich Terror, the music video presents a narrative visual approach exploring the emotional journey of young people striving to rediscover courage, spirit, and identity. The video blends two layers of time: a gloomy and pressured present, and warm, solidarity-filled memories of the past. These contrasting visuals serve as a metaphor for returning home — both physically and emotionally.
