The presence of the Minister of Creative Economy also served as a momentum to discuss and collect perspectives related to the development of the creative economy ecosystem with Katadata Indonesia.
“The Government, under the direction of President Prabowo Subianto, views the potential of the creative economy as a new engine of national economic growth. The creative economy or creative industry is akin to the new mining—resources that are spread across all regions and must be managed collectively,” said Teuku Riefky.
During the visit, which was accompanied by the Deputy for Strategic Development of the Creative Economy, Cecep Rukendi, as well as the Director of Strategic Studies and Management, Agus Syarip Hidayat, the Minister of Creative Economy explained the importance of a data-driven approach in formulating policies and development strategies for the 17 creative economy subsectors.
“The potential of a data-driven creative economy to accelerate growth is immense. Collaboration with Katadata is highly relevant in formulating data-based policies. It is through this data that we can determine the right direction for the development of a targeted creative economy ecosystem,” emphasized the Minister of Creative Economy.
In an effort to drive the positive performance of the Ministry of Creative Economy, the Minister of Creative Economy also outlined the Ministry’s key performance indicators across four areas: investment, exports, job creation, and the contribution of the creative economy to GDP. For instance, creative economy investment has reached IDR 183.01 trillion, or 134 percent of the 2025 target. In addition, the creative economy GDP growth in 2024 stood at 6.57 percent, surpassing the national economic growth rate of 5.03 percent.
