Jakarta, 2 April, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency supports Yayasan Kartika Eka Paksi (YKEP) in integrating the creative economy into its ecosystem to enhance asset value and revenue. The Ministry also views that strengthening cross-sector collaboration can drive national economic growth based on innovation.
The Secretary of the Ministry of Creative Economy, Dessy Ruhati, delivered remarks as a speaker at the Technical Coordination Meeting (Rakornis) of Yayasan Kartika Eka Paksi (YKEP) at Aston Kartika Hotel, Jakarta, on Thursday (April 2, 2026).
“The creative economy is driven by ideas and innovation—low capital yet high value. Within a year, it has made an impact, and the Ministry of Creative Economy continues to grow as a new engine of the national economy, as a concrete manifestation of President Prabowo’s commitment to expanding quality employment opportunities, developing creative industries, and advancing modernization to increase the added value of domestic products and works,” said the Secretary of the Ministry of Creative Economy / Main Secretary of the Creative Economy Agency, Dessy Ruhati, during the 2026 Technical Coordination Meeting (Rakornis) of YKEP at Aston Kartika Hotel, Grogol, on Thursday, April 2, 2026.
YKEP was established in 1972 and upholds integrity in its endeavors to achieve prosperity and improve the welfare of the extended family of the Indonesian Army. The foundation is guided by the noble aspirations of the Indonesian Army to uphold virtuous values and true soldierly spirit in the fields of social affairs, education, religion, and humanitarian work.
From an employment perspective, the creative economy sector has absorbed approximately 27.4 million workers, equivalent to 18.7 percent of the total national workforce. Furthermore, the growth of the creative economy in 2025 reached 6.5 percent, surpassing the national economic growth rate of 5.7 percent.
The mapping of the Ministry of Creative Economy’s position and role continues to progress through strong collaboration, ensuring that future national challenges are addressed not merely through conventional approaches, but through breakthroughs driven by creativity and innovation. In the presentation delivered by the Secretary of the Ministry, a video showcasing the Ministry’s achievements was also presented, highlighting programs relevant for collaboration, including support for creative economy practitioners across various regions.

“Yayasan Kartika Eka Paksi needs to activate and orchestrate the strength of its existing assets. The core strategy that must be prepared is to position the creative economy as a tool to revitalize these assets so they can be utilized and collaboratively developed. In principle, the creative economy can also serve as a commercialization tool for YKEP, supporting several of its flagship programs,” explained Dessy Ruhati.
On the same occasion, the Chair of the Supervisory Board of YKEP, Maruli Simanjuntak, emphasized the importance of creativity and innovation in addressing challenges, as well as the need for strong teamwork to build resilience in supporting the success of both tasks and the foundation’s activities.
“The challenges faced by the nation and the state cannot be addressed merely through routine implementation of activities. We must foster creativity and innovation to ensure that projects can progress, starting with strong teamwork. I wish you a successful Rakornis. Hopefully, everyone here can carry out their programs and duties with full responsibility,” said Maruli Simanjuntak.
