The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency Supports Strengthening Cybersecurity in the Digital Creative Ecosystem

Jakarta, May 6, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency continues to strengthen the digital creative industry ecosystem, one of which is through reinforcing the cybersecurity sector. This was highlighted during a meeting between Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya and several cybersecurity industry players at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office in Jakarta.

Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, received an audience with PT Sinergi Informatika Semen Indonesia, PT Media Telekomunikasi Mandiri, and Cyber Army Indonesia at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office, Jakarta, Thursday (7/5/2026).

This initiative forms part of the government’s efforts to enhance the resilience and competitiveness of the national digital sector. Moreover, the application and digital development subsector is currently recorded as the largest contributor to investment in the creative economy sector, with a value reaching Rp54.18 trillion.

Seeing this potential, the Minister of Creative Economy supports the initiative to establish a cybersecurity association to strengthen the protection and sustainability of the national digital ecosystem.

“Amid existing challenges, the Ministry of Creative Economy continues striving to provide support by actively participating in various agendas across the 17 subsectors with the aim of opening market access, business partnerships, and investment opportunities. For example, the Ministry of Creative Economy participated in Gamescom by bringing several game developers, including Gambir Studio, which successfully secured investment for its game that has now reached 52 thousand downloads,” he said on Wednesday (6/5).

Teuku Riefky also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding market access and cross-sector collaboration through a hexahelix approach.

“We hope to support from the perspective of market access as well as building trust within Indonesia’s industries to use domestically developed products. We also aim to increase exposure both domestically and internationally, including facilitating cross-ministerial, institutional, and SOE collaborations,” he added.

CEO of Spentra, Royke Tobing, stated that the presence of cybersecurity communities and companies aligns with the government’s vision of strengthening national technological sovereignty. He also expressed readiness to establish an association that would serve as a collaborative and protective platform for creative industry players.

“We hope that all small and medium enterprises, as well as creators of creative products, will be protected, meaning that all members of this association can support one another,” he explained.

During the meeting, the Minister of Creative Economy was accompanied by Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology Muhammad Neil El Himam and Director of Applications Tri Wahyudi.

Also present were Founder & CEO of Cyber Army Indonesia Girindro Pringgo Digdo; Director of Corporate Strategic & Services of PT Media Telekomunikasi Mandiri Sugeng Jadmoko; IT Manager of PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia and Vice Chair of the Indonesian Industrial Digital Transformation Council (Wantrii) Yogi Indra Gunawan; as well as President Director of PT Sinergi Informatika Semen Indonesia Achmad Tholchah.
