Kementerian Ekonomi Kreatif/Badan Ekonomi Kreatif memfasilitasi Ndarboy Genk dan Fauzi Haidi untuk tampil di Festival Indofair 2025 di Suriname, Paramaribo, Sabtu (29/11/2025).
Both musicians are alumni of the Ministry’s flagship program, AKTIF (Akselerasi Kreatif) Musik, which Minister Teuku Riefky highlighted as a platform to drive creative, innovative, and globally competitive talent. Ndarboy Genk, the stage name of musician Helarius Daru Indrajaya, collaborated with Fauzi Haidi, a visually impaired singer from Yogyakarta, in the music video Wong Sepele, supported by AKTIF Musik.
“We aim to ensure that every program designed to advance the Indonesian music ecosystem involves multiple stakeholders and demonstrates that the talents emerging from these programs can have their distribution pathways opened all the way to international markets. Through this program, we want to show that inclusivity in the creative economy is not merely a slogan, but concrete action,” said Minister Teuku Riefky on Saturday, 29 November 2025.
The Indofair Festival 2025 in Suriname took place from 27–29 November 2025. The event was successfully realized through collaboration between the Deputy for Media Creativity, namely the Directorate of Music of the Ministry of Creative Economy, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Paramaribo, and the Directorate of Americas II of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The three-day Indofair Festival recorded a total of 12,000 visitors. The event was opened by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Suriname and Guyana, Agus Priono, alongside the Deputy for Media Creativity of the Ministry of Creative Economy, Agustini Rahayu. Also in attendance were two Surinamese Ministers and several government officials at Sana Budaya, Paramaribo, Suriname. This event underscored Indonesia’s strong commitment to promoting creative economy products, including the music subsector, across South America and the Caribbean.
Deputy for Media Creativity Agustini Rahayu stated that AKTIF Musik serves as a platform for creative assistance and facilitation of music production in the regions.
“This program accelerates the economic impact of local works. We do not merely operate behind the scenes, but also support the distribution and exposure of these works so that local music ecosystems can grow sustainably and reach the global stage,” said Ayu, as she is commonly known.

On Friday, 28 November 2025, a Talk Show titled Business Opportunities and Creative Economy in Indonesia was also held as a key platform for deepening economic and creative collaboration between Indonesia and Suriname. The forum was attended by 40 importers and distributors of Indonesian products, as well as Surinamese business actors. It highlighted the strategic role of the creative economy—especially music—in opening market opportunities, expanding industrial networks, and strengthening cultural diplomacy in a country with a strong Indonesian diaspora, including Suriname.
The promotion of music products at Indofair 2025 aimed to map and observe the Indonesian music ecosystem in a country with strong diaspora communities. This initiative is expected to identify potential markets, collaboration opportunities, and strategies for developing Indonesian music exports. Leveraging diaspora networks is key to expanding the reach of the national music industry, enhancing global competitiveness, and contributing to foreign exchange growth within the creative economy sector.
This achievement is a tangible result of the Ministry’s efforts through AKTIF Musik, designed to encourage the creation of original works from regional creative communities and enable them to compete at the global level. Suriname was chosen not only due to its significant Javanese-descendant population and strong historical and emotional ties to Javanese culture—making Javanese- and Indonesian-language dangdut koplo culturally and emotionally relevant—but also due to its organically and collaboratively growing creative industry ecosystem.

Director of Music at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Mohammad Amin, emphasized that the presence of Ndarboy Genk and Fauzi at Indofair was positioned as a symbol of the energy and pride of Indonesian music, combining local culture, disability inclusion, and modernity.
Through this program, the Ministry is encouraging more inclusive local IP (Intellectual Property) to penetrate global markets sustainably. This aligns with the vision of positioning the creative economy as the new engine of growth for Indonesia—starting from the regions by opening broad avenues for cross-community collaboration and diverse talent. Through this work, the Ministry also strengthens its commitment to ensuring equal access for persons with disabilities within the national creative ecosystem.
On the closing day of Indofair, Saturday, 29 November 2025, Ndarboy Genk and Fauzi Haidi performed on stage. Additionally, Ndarboy Genk held a fan meet-and-greet and a joint performance with the Surinamese local band, Kasimex House Band, on Sunday, 30 November 2025.
