Through Marketeers Music Icon 2025, Ministry of Creative Economy Honors Five Legendary Indonesian Musicians

Jakarta, 11 December 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency presented the Marketeers Music Icon 2025 awards to five legendary Indonesian musicians. The awards, presented during the 17th WOW Night and the peak event of the 20th Markplus Conference, serve as a form of appreciation for their contributions in promoting Indonesian music on the global stage.

Wakil Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Irene Umar, menyampaikan sambutan pada acara Marketeers Music Icon 2025 yang digelar di The Ritz-Carlton, Pacific Place, Jakarta, Kamis (11/12/2025).

“The Ministry of Creative Economy is present to appreciate the creativity of legendary musicians in Indonesia. This award is a celebration of national music icons whose contributions have helped promote Indonesian culture globally. We would like to thank MarkPlus for collaborating as a strategic partner in organizing this event,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar at the event held at The Ritz-Carlton, Pacific Place, Jakarta, on Thursday, 11 December 2025.

Following the successful facilitation of the awards last year, the Ministry of Creative Economy once again focused on assessing the development of creative talents in the music subsector. Indonesian musicians continue to evolve with diverse creative expressions and musical genres, including the distinctiveness of ethnic music.

“Music has a way of entering our lives in every special moment. Through the 2nd Annual Marketeers Music Icon, these musicians are expected to become an inspiration so that the music subsector is not only recognized in Indonesia, but also known throughout the world,” added Deputy Minister Irene Umar, accompanied by Director of Music Mohammad Amin.

Support from MarkPlus (MCorp), as the organizer of this event, further strengthens global connectivity by bringing business excellence and innovative solutions to the world stage. MarkPlus is widely recognized as a business and marketing organization led by Hermawan Kartajaya that drives national economic growth and development.

“Starting last year, we have given awards to outstanding musicians. This year, we are also presenting a special award or appreciation to a couple whose love story has remained consistent and timeless. Their togetherness reflects extraordinary harmony and can be an inspiration for all of us. This is the Exemplary Couple of the Year, Erik Meijer and Maudy Koesnaedi,” added Hermawan Kartajaya.

The five musicians receiving awards this year are:
1. Candra Darusman, Iwan Fals, Kris Dayanti, and Rhoma Irama as Marketeers Music Icon 2025;
2. Dwiki Dharmawan as Marketeers Music Icon Indonesia Ethnic 2025.

Attendees were also entertained by a series of performances, accessible through the purchase of festival or VIP tickets. Following the award presentation, the opening act by Jessica Stage Dance School (TOP 30 finalist of SM Entertainment Singapore) was showcased.

In addition, the peak event titled WOW Night was presented as an exclusive indoor concert featuring guest star Juicy Luicy, performing their signature songs. The Bandung-based band has achieved 35.4 billion listeners on the Spotify platform and was named Top 2 Local Group of 2025 from Indonesia.

The Ministry of Creative Economy remains committed to strengthening the music subsector ecosystem, from creative talent development to expanding access to global promotion. The music subsector continues to play a vital role in accelerating the creative economy, making this event a highly anticipated annual agenda. Beyond concerts or music festivals, the creation of a complex creative value chain can serve as a driving force for the national economy, or the new engine of growth.
