Jakarta, 8 November 2025 — Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, encouraged Jakarta to become a leading example of a city that successfully combines cultural preservation with creative economy innovation. This message was delivered during the “SATOE Indonesia” concert, organized by the Jakarta Department of Culture in collaboration with the Jakarta Philharmonic Orchestra at Teater Jakarta, Taman Ismail Marzuki, on Saturday, 8 November 2025. The event served as a testament to strong collaboration between the government, artists, and the creative community.
Wakil Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Irene Umar, menghadiri konser "SATOE Indonesia" yang digelar Dinas Kebudayaan Jakarta bersama Jakarta Philharmonic Orchestra di Teater Jakarta, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Sabtu (8/11/2025).
“Creative economy grows out of living culture. When music, performing arts, and creativity come together, they spark new energy for the nation — this is the essence of the new engine of growth that we continue to champion,” stated the Deputy Minister at the event titled Bergerak Bersama Budaya Jakarta.
The concert is part of a series of activities leading up to the 500th anniversary of Jakarta in 2027. Carrying the theme “SATOE Indonesia” — with “satoe” meaning “one” in the old Indonesian spelling — the performance reflects a spirit of national unity expressed through music. The choice of Taman Ismail Marzuki as the venue reinforces Jakarta’s role as a cultural and artistic hub where diverse creative expressions converge.
During the occasion, the Deputy Minister expressed appreciation for the concert’s ability to harmonize cultural values, musicality, and messages of national identity into one cohesive performance.

She emphasized that the performing arts subsector — including orchestral and classical music — holds strong potential to contribute to Indonesia’s creative economy. With supportive policies, talent development, and cross-sector collaboration, Jakarta is expected to model how cities can integrate cultural preservation with creative innovation.
“The spirit of SATOE Indonesia is not only about celebrating diversity, but also about activating collective creativity. The government, artists, and the public must work hand in hand to ensure that our culture not only endures, but also generates economic value,” the Deputy Minister added.
