Jakarta, January 22, 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency is paying close attention to Indonesia’s Intellectual Property (IP), which has been experiencing positive growth. The Ministry of Creative Economy aims to continuously develop IP and ensure it gains recognition both nationally and globally.

As part of its commitment to fostering IP growth in Indonesia, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, visited IP Expo Indonesia 2025. The event, organized by GDP Venture and Dentsu Indonesia, took place at the Grand Ballroom Kempinski, Central Jakarta, on January 22, 2025. Irene’s visit aimed to strengthen networks with various IP players in Indonesia.
Accompanied by the Director of Intellectual Property Development and Facilitation, Muhamad Fauzi, Irene expressed her excitement about meeting new IP creators at IP Expo Indonesia 2025.
"I'm thrilled to meet and connect with new IPs today. I believe Indonesian IPs are already impressive, some even gaining international recognition. My goal here is to explore the various IPs in Indonesia so we can compile a comprehensive database. Once we have that, it will be much easier to take the next steps," said Irene.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene emphasized that the Ministry of Creative Economy is committed to bringing Indonesia’s intellectual properties to the global stage. She is optimistic that Indonesian IPs can thrive and gain worldwide recognition, supporting the creative economy as the new engine of growth.
"The creative economy has long been seen as something new, not just in Indonesia but worldwide. I hope this momentum continues so that we can introduce these IPs into public spaces and collaborate with various brands in Indonesia," Irene added.
IP Expo Indonesia 2025 envisions Indonesian IPs collaborating with international IPs across different subsectors, utilizing IP as a marketing tool. Elvira Jakub, Country CEO of Dentsu Indonesia, emphasized the need for greater attention to local IPs to enhance public awareness.
"Local IPs have great potential but have yet to receive adequate exposure. That’s why we invited international IPs today, hoping that through collaboration, local IPs can gain more recognition. Moving forward, after IP Expo Indonesia 2025 concludes, marketers in Indonesia should consider integrating IP into their marketing strategies," said Elvira Jakub, Country CEO of Dentsu Indonesia.
