Jakarta, June 14, 2025 – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, described the Creative Market at the Jakarta Future Festival (JFF) as an excellent platform for introducing local intellectual property (IP) to the market. She emphasized that such activities are a concrete step in strengthening Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem.

“Creative Market is not merely an exhibition, but a space for interaction and collaboration that drives the growth of Indonesia’s creative ecosystem, while also serving as an appreciation stage for curated local IPs,” said Deputy Minister Irene during her visit to the Creative Market at the Trisno Soemardjo Building, Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Jakarta, on Saturday, June 14, 2025.
The Creative Market provides a platform for exploration, expression, and ideas, regularly bringing together and celebrating the development of local IPs on a regular and inclusive basis. Deputy Minister Irene also appreciated the innovation and creativity of these local IPs, which showcased a variety of unique merchandise and products.
“This presents an opportunity for the creative economy to generate a more diverse multiplier effect. There are various merchandise products such as stickers, caps, t-shirts, hoodies, sneakers, sticky notes, keychains, pins, postcards, local action figures, and comics with distinctive cartoon designs and character illustrations. They have added value, know your market properly,” Irene remarked.

More than 20 creative entrepreneurs from various subsectors, such as design, crafts, and publishing, participated in the JFF Creative Market at Taman Ismail Marzuki, introducing and strengthening their brand identity. Among the participating local IPs were Oentukmu, Happybitsofjoy, Pete Ijo, Tenka Street, Kembu Club, Punopals, Desa Timun, Fun Cican, Bumbu Kentang, Guru Bumi, Toko Racil, Bogor Illustrator Hub, Gajelas & Friends, Semesta Kigentar, Baca Komik Lokal, Sayuti Koboi Betawi, World Without Sleep, Kapten Justice, Sovlo, Precious One, Sackai, Grebe, and Noura Publishing.
In front of the Collective Room on the 2nd floor of the Creative Market Museum, there was also a Board Games Corner featuring games from Segara Indonesia/Kata Emak, Impian Studio, Bambam Kingdom, Table Toys Games, Kemplang Production, and Feiratochi.
During this activity, Deputy Minister Irene Umar was accompanied by the Director for Fine Arts and Performing Arts, Dadam Mahdar, and the Director for Publishing and Photography, Iman Santosa.
