Jakarta, January 8, 2025 – The Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, received an official visit from the Boleh Dicoba Digital (BDD) team. This meeting served as a demonstration of the Ministry of Creative Economy’s commitment as a data custodian.
The meeting took place on January 8, 2025, at the Sapta Pesona Building, Jakarta. Also in attendance were Yuana Rochma Astuti, Director of Digital Content at the Ministry of Creative Economy, and Yuke Sri Rahayu, Deputy for Cultural Creativity and Design.
At the beginning of the discussion, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene emphasized the critical role of data, particularly real-time data. She highlighted that the creative economy has made a significant contribution to two key areas: national GDP and employment generation. Additionally, she underscored the importance of leveraging digital intelligence, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), to enhance the sector’s development.
"The application of AI in big data processing can accelerate the achievement of the objectives set out in the Emak-Emak Matic program," stated Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene.
Yuana Rochma Astuti, Director of Digital Content at the Ministry of Creative Economy, further elaborated that programs such as Emak-Emak Matic or Emak-Emak Melek Teknologi, as mentioned by Deputy Minister Irene, could be effectively integrated into existing initiatives. She noted that this program reflects the Ministry’s strong commitment to women’s empowerment.
"This initiative is designed to facilitate collaboration among program participants, local communities, and business actors in each city. The women’s empowerment program within the creative economy sector has already been introduced in two cities—Bandung and Yogyakarta," Yuana explained.
Representing BDD, Yuricho Billy, Head of Community Development, expressed his hope that additional value could be created for the mapped-out communities and creative economy players. He also emphasized the importance of knowledge development, particularly in the advertising and content creation sectors, as a means of further strengthening Indonesia’s creative industry.
"Indonesia is not only rich in resources but also in creativity and innovation. By adding value, we can establish a strong ‘Created by Indonesia’ narrative for local products, making them a source of national pride," remarked Yuricho Billy.
