Jakarta, October 4, 2025 – Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya expressed his highest appreciation for the success of the film Believe, which continues to pave the way for Indonesian cinema in international markets. “We deeply appreciate and take great pride in the journey of Believe on the international stage. We hope this becomes a momentum and opens new pathways for Indonesian films to penetrate global markets, both commercially and artistically,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky.
Domestically, Believe has also achieved commercial success, attracting more than one million viewers since its release on July 24, 2025, in theaters across Indonesia. Beyond its local triumph, Believe has earned international recognition through three major accolades:
Best Action Movie at the Bollywood Hollywood International Film Festival (Las Vegas)
Best Director at the Montreal International Film Festival (Canada)

“Believe proves that Indonesian cinema can deliver tactical combat realism that feels fresh and aligns with international standards,” added Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar, who attended the film’s pre-screening on July 14 at XXI Agora Mall.
Believe: Fate, Dreams, and Courage marks the debut of the production house Bahagia Tanpa Drama. The film goes beyond military themes or stories of those who take up arms—it also tells the story of those who wait in silence, caught between hope and loss. Directed by Rahabi Mandra and Arwin Tri Wardhana, the film successfully blends a patriotic narrative with strong production vision and realistic action.

“With Believe, we wanted to take a step further, not through martial arts, but through authentic tactical combat. The victories in Las Vegas, the upcoming release in Malaysia, and our partnership with Media Move for the U.S. and European markets demonstrate that Indonesian films can be recognized and embraced globally,” said Believe producer Celerina Judisari, who previously produced Kadet 1947 and Satria Dewa: Gatotkaca.
In another exciting development, Believe is set to premiere in Malaysia in October 2025. This milestone is expected to strengthen its reach in the global market through partnerships with Antenna Entertainments for Asia-Pacific distribution and Media Move for distribution in the United States and Europe.
