Jakarta, June 4, 2025 — The Ministry of Creative Economy, through its Deputy for Strategic Development of the Creative Economy, participated in the 2025 World Intellectual Property (IP) Day Commemoration held at the Pengayoman Building, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Jakarta. The event aimed to raise awareness and encourage the utilization of intellectual property (IP) in Indonesia.

The 2025 World IP Day celebration featured the launch of Copyright POP with e-SEAL 2025, the Indonesian IP Education Portal, as well as the presentation of awards and trademark certifications for MSMEs. This event marked the peak celebration, themed “A Decade of Performance Exposure and IP Appreciation,” organized by the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP).
Minister of Law and Human Rights, Supratman Andi Agtas, expressed appreciation to creative individuals who have contributed to the growth of intellectual property in Indonesia. The Minister emphasized the critical importance of IP awareness and protection to drive national innovation and creativity.
“We must ensure that every creative work is well protected to motivate creators to continue innovating,” he stated.
Cecep Rukendi, Deputy for Strategic Development of the Creative Economy, added that a creative economy built upon strong intellectual property foundations can enhance the quality and quantity of local creative products, thereby increasing their competitiveness in global markets.
“By developing an IP-based creative economy, we can create high-quality job opportunities and improve community welfare,” said Cecep.

He also highlighted the importance of strengthening public education and awareness about the role of intellectual property in driving the creative economy as a new engine of growth. Furthermore, he stressed the need for collaboration between the government, creative industries, and society to foster innovation and optimize the potential of intellectual property in Indonesia through a more robust creative ecosystem.
“The Ministry of Creative Economy remains fully committed to supporting the advancement of intellectual property in Indonesia as a key pillar of national progress, global competitiveness, and creative economic growth,” Cecep concluded.
The event was also attended by Razilu, Director General of Intellectual Property.
