Jakarta, July 1, 2025 – Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, plans to support the distribution of 177 national films that have yet to be released, through collaboration with State Film Production (Produksi Film Negara/PFN). This initiative was decided following a meeting with PFN at the Ministry’s office in Jakarta, on Monday, July 1, 2025, to address challenges in the distribution and promotion of local films.

“We must ensure that these 177 films reach cinemas. The Ministry of Creative Economy will also provide further promotional support for these films in collaboration with various stakeholders,” said the Minister.
Minister Riefky emphasized the importance of a hexahelix collaboration—engaging the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, financial institutions, creative hubs, and regional governments—to strengthen the creative industry ecosystem, particularly the film subsector. Over the past seven years, 81 creative hubs have been established across various regions, including mini-theaters and creative incubation spaces.

To address financing challenges faced by creative industry talents, the Ministry of Creative Economy, in collaboration with the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, provides a special Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR, government-backed People’s Business Credit program) loan facility of IDR 500 million. By combining these resources, stakeholders can optimize assets and reinforce the national film ecosystem.
“We also encourage regional Creative Economy Offices to actively facilitate promotion and connect business players with various partners, including investors,” added Minister Teuku Riefky.

PT Produksi Film Negara (PFN), a state-owned enterprise in the audiovisual industry, is currently transforming into a film financing company.
President Director of PFN, Riefian Fajarsyah, stated that PFN now serves as a facilitator within the national film ecosystem, shifting its focus from production to becoming a distribution channel for small production houses, helping them secure screenings in cinemas and on over-the-top (OTT) platforms.

He also revealed PFN’s plan to develop its 26,000-square-meter site into offices and a virtual production studio operating from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. WIB, aimed at supporting a sustainable film production ecosystem.
