Vice Minister of Creative Economy/Vice Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, stated that this ongoing collaboration opens wider promotional opportunities for Indonesian creative works, including family films, while also strengthening the government’s presence in creating safe and comfortable travel experiences for the public.

“This continued collaboration provides opportunities for Indonesian films like Pelangi di Mars to gain broader public recognition through creative mediums in public transportation such as trains. The homecoming and Lebaran holiday period becomes even more festive with imaginative activations that are close to the community,” said Irene Umar on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

She added that cross-sector synergy also highlights the strong potential of local Intellectual Property (IP) created by Indonesian talents, which continues to grow as a key force in the national creative industry.

Passengers arriving at Gambir Station are welcomed with a different atmosphere, as the station is decorated with visual installations themed around Pelangi di Mars, featuring robotic elements and set details that reflect the film’s unique aesthetic. These installations provide space for travelers to take photos while enjoying a more memorable holiday experience.

Meanwhile, one of the Argo Dwipangga train sets features a special Pelangi di Mars themed livery, showcasing vibrant colors, the film’s main character, and robotic elements. The combination of train livery and station decorations creates a fresh visual atmosphere

“The homecoming journey by train now offers a creative experience that is closely connected to the imaginative world of children. This atmosphere is expected to enhance comfort while also creating a pleasant impression throughout the journey,” added Irene.

Producer of Pelangi di Mars, Dendi Reynando, stated that the production of children’s films in Indonesia is still relatively limited, even though the demand for family-oriented content continues to grow. Therefore, Pelangi di Mars is expected to contribute to the development of strong characters and stories that can evolve into local intellectual property.

“Children’s films in Indonesia are still limited. We hope Pelangi di Mars can be part of efforts to build local IP that continues to grow,” said Dendi.

President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), Bobby Rasyidin, welcomed the collaboration as a step toward creating a more memorable travel experience for passengers while also supporting the nation’s creative works.

“Railways are a public space that can offer a unique experience for passengers. Through train livery and station decorations, we aim to make journeys more vibrant, more memorable, and closer to Indonesia’s creative works,” said Bobby.

Previously, the Ministry of Creative Economy and KAI had also collaborated by featuring local comic IP characters during the Ramadan and Lebaran homecoming period in 2025. The collaboration continued during the 2025 school holiday season with the appearance of the character Jumbo on long-distance train body designs. At the end of 2025, another creative activation was carried out by showcasing 11 local IPs accompanying passengers during the Christmas and New Year period.

This cross-sector synergy reaffirms support for local creative works, particularly Indonesian films. The release of national films during the Lebaran holiday also provides fresh, warm, and imaginative viewing options for families. The film Pelangi di Mars is scheduled to be released in cinemas starting March 18, 2026.
